3. Phone a Friend – Make a list of three people that you’ve found to be both encouraging and supportive as well as willing to challenge you and hold you to your word. When the motivation to act on your goals begins to fade, call a member from your list for a guaranteed boost to your spirit and drive.

4. Take a Nap – As odd as it may sound, sometimes the most effective way to get motivated is to get napping. With a quick catnap, your body and mind can get the rest and relaxation they need to come back with twice as much the strength and creativity.

5. The List of Reasons – Getting motivated comes down to one thing: reasons. If you have strong enough reasons backing your goals or dreams, you’ll do what it takes to achieve them. With one of your most important goals in mind, create a list of your most compelling reasons to succeed. Read often.

6. Create a Contract – Using your personal computer, create a contract that states what you want to change or improve about your life and by when you’re committed to doing it. Print, sign, and date.
