The #1 Killer Of All Successes
It’s been quite a long time since my last post here. I’ve been quite busy lately (just my own excuse for being lazy and putting things off). I’ve just finished my 4 years university life as a student, and now I’m waiting to go into the so-called “real world”.
I’m going to start my work or my “job” as an real estate negotiator this coming June. This is a no salary job. It is a 100% commission based work. Therefore, a lot of people actually disagree that I work as a real estate agent. After all, many people have the mindset that they must work and get paid for it.
I’m not thinking it the same way, for me, I’m thinking to get paid for my performance and not because of wanting a fix salary. That is why I chose this work. Anyway, this is off topic. Let us get into today’s topic.
So what is the #1 killer of all successes?
Do you know why most people live a mediocre life and get nowhere in their life? The answer is very simple, procrastination, or inactivity.
Many people know what they want in their life. Some people think of building their own business, they have a lot of constructive and creative ideas, but they just don’t implement them.
I bet you are the same. So do you know what you want to achieve in your life? Have you achieved it?
I bet the answer is a big no, right?
This is what is stopping most people from getting what they want in their life. In fact, there is no procrastination. Not doing something is also a kind of action, the unproductive action.
If you suppose to read the market analysis for your business, but in the end you spend the time to watch television, it is not procrastination. You did take action, just that you’re taking the wrong action and produce the wrong results.
Therefore, no matter what you do in your life, you’re doing something, the action you take will either lead you to where you want to be, or it will lead you further away from what you want in your life.
Now, you knew what is stopping you from getting what you want in your life, so how can you overcome this?
One of the easiest and simplest ways to overcome procrastination is to take action without thinking. When you come across an idea of creating wealth, straight away write it down, create plans and take action. Don’t allow yourself to have the time to think.
The more you think the more you are going to procrastinate and not doing it. So don’t allow yourself to have the time to think twice. It is just like if you have to wake up 1 hour earlier every morning to jog, once you woke up, straight away get out of your bed, don’t think and don’t lie on your bed anymore. Once you woke up, brush your teeth, wash your face and change your clothes, and then just get out of your house and jog.
If you think whether you should jog or continue to sleep, most of the time you will end up sleeping. It is the same in doing business. I know that you have to consider a lot of factors before you start a business, but remember this, if you keep on thinking and without taking any action, you will never have your own business.
Most people fail because of inactivity. As long as you can get a breakthrough and taking consistent action, you will achieve what you want in your life.
Remember what Nike has to say, “Just Do It!”

I totally agree with you.. i was just randomly searchign for sumthing to lift up my spirits.. found ur blog..
i think the right thing always is to “just do it”..
no hesitation, no repentence.. no rethinking..
i liked it..
Hello Prachi, thanks for visiting and leaving your comment.
Well, very true, most people (include me) will procrastinate
in achieving what they want. And this is what causes most
people fail to get what they want in their life.
Hi Shawn,I missed you.I am once again empowered by your writtings.Keep it up.Bravo you.
Hi Shawn,
It’s nice to know you’ll be into real estate soon. I am interested with your success stories since I love to read tips about real estate investing and negotiating.
When I invested on my first property, I took the action immediately and believed that failure was not an option. Just like your article above…I just did it…. and will keep doing it because it works. Good luck Shawn into the “real world”.
Hello guys, nice to see you here.
Thanks for reading once again.
Well Vanj, its great to hear that you’re in the same industry
as me. Hope that in the future we can share our
opinion on real estate.
To your ultimate success,
Shawn
