Ultimate Secret To Achieving Your Financial Goals

December 29th, 2009

How many goals do you want to achieve in your life? How many of them have come true?

If you fail to achieve your goals, it is mainly because of this ‘secret’.

Many people set their goal to be financially independent, but most of them fail to make it come true. Why is this so?

The reason is simple, it is because achieving their financial goal is NOT their main definite purpose in life.

Let me ask you this, why do you want to be rich in the first place? Do you think that money can buy you happiness? Do you think that money can give you health? Do you think that money can give you love?

Money is just the byproduct or the results of your action. Money is not going to solve your problems. It is true that you need money to buy cars, houses, boats, and more. However, it is not an end.

What you truly want to get from your financial goal is the feeling that it can give you. When you have the money, you’ll have the freedom to do what you always desire.

Some people say that if they have the money, they’ll quit their job and travel around the world. The thing is, you don’t need money to quit your job. And you can travel around the world even if you’re not a millionaire.

For most people, money is just something they think can give them; the freedom, the feeling of self-esteem, happiness, health, vitality, joy, relaxation and more.

Money cannot buy you happiness. The thing is, you can be happy even if you’re not rich.

You have to understand that in order for you to achieve your goals, you must develop the passion and motivation to take the necessary action to produce the results you want.

If you’re not passionate, not committed, not determined, lack of motivation, you’ll never take action to achieve your goals. You’ll give up once you face with obstacles.

Why do you think Bill Gates works even after he becomes a billionaire? So with Warren Buffett. And the same goes to Donald Trump.

Rich and successful people will not work for money. Money is not their definite purpose. They work for other reasons that motivate them into taking action.

Anita Roddick, the founder of Body Shop, does not create her business because of money. She created her business because she wants to help the environment by developing environmental friendly products through Body Shop.

As you can see now, making money should not be your main purpose. If making money serves as your definite purpose, most of the time you’ll fail to achieve your financial goal.

This is the ultimate secret why most people fail to achieve their money goals.

You have to make sure you’re absolutely clear about what you truly want in your life. Money is just the results of your action. It is not what you truly desire in your life.

Therefore, find out the reason why you want to be rich. Know exactly how becoming a millionaire can help you in your life. Know the ‘why’ and you’ll have the motivation, the passion and the commitment to achieve any financial goal you set in your life.

10 Tips How To Make Your Goals Come True

September 11th, 2009

Having difficulty in making your goals come true? Here are 10 tips that can help you…

1. Be specific with your goals, set a deadline for each of them and write them down on a piece of paper.

I believe that this is a very common tip that I don’t have to explain any further.

2. Paste the piece of paper where you have your goals written down on the wall somewhere you can see often.

You can also put it on the table of your desk. The key in doing this is to remind yourself of your goals all the time. Trust me, it works. If you don’t believe it, just try it. Just put the paper somewhere you can see often, and whenever you see it, you will know what to do to make it come true.

3. Create positive motivation to inspire you to take action.

Most people fail to take action to make their goals come true simply because they are not motivated enough to take action. What you can do here is to create some positive motivation to keep you going. For example, if your family is your biggest motivation, you can also include a picture of your family in your goals’ paper.

Find out what motivates you and use it to help you to take the necessary action. If your goal is to stop smoking and your daughter is your biggest motivation, think of her whenever you want to smoke.

4. Make use of the punish and reward system.

Punish yourself whenever you fail to take action and reward yourself if you successfully did what you supposed to do. For example, you can reward yourself by taking a nap or watching a movie if you follow through and take action to make your goals come true.

On the other hand, you can punish yourself with late sleep or no entertainment if you fail to follow through. This way, you will train your mind and body to work according to what you focus on.

5. Spend 15 minutes everyday to visualize the achievement of your goals.

This is another common tip that you can apply to realize your goals. By seeing it in your mind, you will tend to be more motivated and you will send messages to the universe and telling the universe what you want. Successful people do this all the time. They can see it clearly in their mind what they want before they finally achieve it.

6. Take at least 1 or 3 action steps that will lead you to your goals everyday.

Nothing is going to happen to you if you are not taking any action. Even if you spend time visualize or look at your goals’ paper everyday, if you are not doing anything, nothing will ever happen. So take at least 1 or 3 action steps that will bring you toward your goals everyday.

7. Make a public commitment about your goals.

Are you serious about achieving your goals? If you do, make a public commitment about it. Tell everyone about what you want to accomplish in your life. Tell your wife about your goals, tell your parents about your goals, tell your friends and colleagues about your goals and when you are going to achieve them.

If you do this, you will leave yourself with no other option but to make your goals come true. This is simply because your reputation is at stake. If you do not do what it takes to make your goals come true, your friends and colleagues may laugh at you. Thus, this will force you into a situation where you have burnt all the bridges. As a result, you will take serious action and produce real results.

8. Measure and review your progress and results.

You will never know whether you are moving one step closer to your goals if you are not measuring the results you are getting. You have to know your position and align your course in order to get to where you are. If you sense that you are not producing the results you want, it is either you are not taking enough action, or the strategy you are using is incorrect. You will then have to change your strategy to produce the results you want.

If you are producing the results you want, congratulations. Take even more action to get yourself even more results.

9. Never forget about the reasons why you want to achieve your goals.

It is the reason that inspire you to setting your goals. So make sure you keep in mind why you want to achieve what you want in your life. When you are down, try to recall why you set the goals in the first place. Your reasons deep in your heart are the source of motivation. Always remember this.

10. Practice all the tips above for at least 21 days.

Studies have shown that in order for a new habit to form, you need to practice it every single day for at least 21 day. It is not difficult in the beginning. It is just like moving to a new environment, you will feel odd with your act, but soon you will get use to it because your mind has formed the neuro connection required.

It is the same here. Practice good habit for at least 21 days and that habit will be with you forever. Most people never question how they brush their teeth every morning. Do you notice how you brush your teeth in the morning? It is exactly the same way as always. That is what I mean by habit. Once you formed a new habit, you will do things exactly the same way everyday.

By following through all the 10 tips here, I strongly believe that achieving your goals will never be a problem anymore. Go on and apply these tips for at least 1 month and you will see the amazing results.

Why You Fail To Achieve Your Goals And How You Can Make Your Goals Come True

July 23rd, 2009

If you’ve been following me with my blog here, you should know that you need to have a clear goal. If you want to be successful but you don’t have a goal, you will never achieve what you want in your life.

I’m not going to tell you why you need to have a goal in your life or how to set an empowering goal in this article. What I’m going to share with you here today is something that I found interesting.

I believe that almost everyone who sets their goals fail to make their goals come true.

I don’t know about you, but this has happened to me before. Why is this so?

And in this article, I’m going to share with you the idea why most people fail to achieve their goals and how you can make a different and achieve what you really want in your life.

Your Goals Are Not Your Dreams

First of all, many people treat their goals like dreams. They have big goals, and I mean really big goals. It is great to have big goals, but the problem is, can you really achieve it?

Too often, people set their goals too big until they’re overwhelmed by their goals. In other words, their goals are just unrealistic.

Before you set your goals, make sure they are really within your reach! If you set your goal as to make a million dollar by selling a $1 key chain, do you know how many sales you’re going to make before you can achieve that target? Do you know how many rejections you’ll have to go through before you can finally cross that 1 million dollar mark? Can you really stand the rejection? Are you really committed to put in the crazy hard work?

This is what is happening to most people. If you’re trying to earn a million dollar by selling a $1 key chain, you’ll give up faster than you can ever imagine.

What is more worse is that people will set a very short deadline for their goals. For example, they want to lose weight and they want to lose it fast. It is just like you set your goal as to make $100,000 in just 24 hours, which is not really possible.

I’m not saying that you cannot set big goals or it is impossible to achieve such a big goal in a short time. What I’m suggesting you is…

Start With Small Goals To Stretch Your Muscle

You have to start small. You have to make use to goal setting and you must train yourself, your muscle and your brain about achieving goals.

If you set 100 goals but you fail to even make anyone of them come true, what will you do? Do you think you will feel de-motivated and give up forever?

Of course you will! So use goal setting in the right way. Start from setting small goals that you can attain.

Let me give you an example here. If your usual wake up time is 7am and you want to improve it to 6am, what you can do is by setting small goals to train yourself in achieving it.

You can start by waking up at 6.50am for 3 days, 6.40am for another 3 days, 6.30am for the next 3 days and so on until you achieve your ultimate goal.

It is the same if you want to adopt the habit of reading. Some people will feel sleepy once they open their book. So what you can do is start from small task. Train yourself to read for 5 to 10 minutes. And then slowly increase the time you spend into reading until you get use to it and eventually achieve your goals.

You must not OVERDO yourself. You’re not superman and you will never be! (and I hope you don’t want to be a superman because you’ll have to wear your underwear outside! :P )

The whole message of this article is this, do not set goals that are unrealistic or outside of your reach, at least not when you’re new in goal setting. Make sure your goals are attainable.

Always start with smaller goals that you can achieve to build up the momentum. Once you achieved your goals, you will feel happy and extremely fulfilled. So what good is this?

You will be motivated, you will take even more action and set even higher goals in your life.

Therefore, if you’re not achieving your goals, maybe this is one of the reasons for it.

So try to break down your goals into smaller goals and start taking action, right now!

How These 2 Successful Guys Leverage On Goal Setting

April 9th, 2009

So have you written down your goals but fail to achieve them? If you achieved your goals, congratulations, but if you fail to achieve them, what do you think about goal setting? Is goal setting truly works?

Well, I’m going to share with you how these 2 successful guys leverage on goal setting to accomplish amazing results in their life later in this post. I wanted to show you that it is not goal setting does not work, it is the people who practice it that do not work.

One of the most common reasons people fail to achieve their goal is that they thought that goal setting is about writing what they want on a piece of paper and miracle will occur. This is totally not true at all. Goal setting is not a magic wand, writing down what you want only helps you to manifest and stay focused in your direction, it will not help you to create the results you want in your life.

So make this clear, goal setting is not a magic wand, you cannot get what you want by just a wave. You’ll need to put in REAL EFFORTS and TAKE ACTION to make your goals come true.

This is the number one reason people fail to achieve what they want – lack of action.

People fail to accomplish their goals not because goal setting does not work; it is not because their goals are too high; it is not that they don’t have the knowledge and resource; it is because of the lack of action. Let’s face it, human is lazy, and people tend to delay and procrastinate on their work, as a result, this is what causes most people fail to achieve what they want in their life.

Goal setting works and it works wonder IF you make it work.

As long as you are determined about your goals, you are100% committed to achieve them, and you are willing to sacrifice and take the necessary action, you will DEFINITELY achieve them.

Even Bruce Lee Knows The Power Of Goal Setting

Do you know who Bruce Lee is? I bet you’ve heard of his name. He is the world’s most famous martial artist. If you ever get a chance to visit Planet Hollywood in the New York City, look for the letter hanging on the wall that Bruce Lee wrote to himself.

Bruce wrote, “By 1980 I will be the best known oriental movie star in the United States and will have secured $10 million dollars. And in return I will give the very best acting I can possibly give every single time I am in front of the camera and I will live in peace and harmony”

So you see, even Bruce Lee has his own goals and wrote them down into paper.

Jim Carrey Leveraged On Goal Setting By Writing Himself A Check

Before Jim Carrey was famous, he walked up to the Hollywood Hills and wrote himself a check for $10 million dollars. The check was dated on Thanksgiving 1995, added the notation “for acting services rendered”. Since then, he carried this check with him to anywhere in his wallet from that day onward. Sometimes he’ll just pulling it out to keep his dream clearly visible in his mind.

The rest, as they say, is history. Carrey’s optimism and tenacity eventually paid off, and by 1995, after the huge box office success of Ace Ventura, The Mask, and Dumb & Dumber, his asking price had risen to $20 million per picture. When his father died in 1994, he placed the $10 million check into his father’s coffin as a tribute to the man who had both started and nurtured his dreams of being a star.

Both Bruce Lee and Jim Carrey have a clear vision of what they want in their life; they have clear vision, they set clear goals, they are determined and they put in 100% commitment into making their goals come true.

These are the true secrets to success. It does not matter where you come from, even if you don’t have a proper education, you can still accomplish and achieve great success in your life. All it matter is where you are heading.
