How Often Should You Post In Your Blog?
This is a question that often asked by most newbie bloggers. Frankly, I don’t have the answer for this question. I don’t know how much time you are willing to spend in your blog everyday. For some people, they spend only about one hour into their blog everyday. They publish a post once every two or three days, and their blog is still great! They have many loyal readers. While for some blogger, they publish post every single day, however, their blog is not as popular as the first case. This is why how many post should you publish in your blog does not really matter.
Posting Frequency
It is the posting frequency that matters. For example, if you choose to post everyday, then stick with the plan, and post an article in your blog everyday. Here is the tips, use the timestamp option to make your post publish at the same time everyday. Posting frequency will attract the search engine spider to crawl over your blog. If your posting frequency is not fixed, the frequency for search engine spider to crawl through your blog will not be fixed as well. Meaning that every time you post something new, the search engine won’t know and it will not crawl through your blog.
That is why posting frequency is more important than numbers of posting. If you are publishing a new post every 35 days, then stick with it. Even if you want to change it, change it slowly. Such as, you can slowly publish a post every 4 days, then every 3 days, then 2 and everyday… You have to do the same if you want to reduce the number of posting in your blog. So don’t post 5 articles in the same time, then leave your blog without doing anything for the whole week. If you do so, it is going to kill your blog.
What to Post?
Some people may say, if I want to post everyday, there is no content for me to write. Is this true? Do you really think that you will run out of content for your niche? Really, I don’t think so. You can basically talk about anything that is related to your niche market. If you can’t find anything to write, you can even write your own story or experience with your niche. If you are running out of content and don’t know what to post, you are facing the problem that some people call it, the writers’ block. It means that you are blocking your own thinking, your mind is not open enough. It is the same case for mental block. In fact, it is not ‘out-of-content’ that you are facing, instead, it is your mind that shut all the possible way in your mind to look for content.

When this happens to you, do not worry. Simply rest for away, listen to some music or songs that relax your mind, or you can also talk a walk. This is to refresh your mind so that you can think out of the box. The one thing that I found through my own blogging experience is this, blogging is all about events and experience.
Every time you want to post something and let your readers know, it is because of the events surrounding you or because of your own experience. For example, if you want to post about another similar blog which is performing great in your niche, it is because you have gone through it, and you feel like it is a great blog to share with your readers. This is your own experience which you came across when you surf the net. The same thing goes for affiliate programs. If you are posting about how an affiliate program can help your readers and why they need that product, it is because you want to earn money out of it, it is because of the happening. So can you see the big picture now? It is because of what is happening in our surrouning and the experience that we faced that lead us to post. Therefore, one of the best way you can overcome mental block is this:
Jotting Down Every Ideas That Come Across You
Whenever you come across an idea, quickly jot it down into your notepad, or you can even write them with your hand phone. This is to make sure that you are not going to forget the precious idea which you are going to share with your readers. Now, doing this requires commitment as well. If you don’t have the commitment, you are going to give up doing this. Well, maybe you are going to do this only for the first few days, but after some time, you are going to stop it, and the mental block will happen to you again.
What I do is this, you know, I’ve subscribed to a lot of newsletters or list just to receive e-books, or reports that other internet gurus offer. And I do have a lot of pdf files in my computer. Every time I read them, and if there is any idea that come across my mind, I will write them down into my hand phone, and when it is the time for me to post, I will refer back the ideas and write it to you. Did you know that this article was produced in the same way?

i think that’s good to jot down if we have a new ideas, then go to do some keyword research to find out what others want to know, instead of writing what we want.
recently i found out how precious the teaching from Jay Abraham (world #1 marketer)about writing headline and title to attract people.
copyblogger.come is a good place for you to find out how to write and good headline.
for keyword research, i think seobook.com provide the best tool.

Hi Steve. Correct, we have to always jot down what comes into our mind before the ideas slip away.
Wow, Jay Abraham, one of the most famous marketing gurus.
I love all these gurus because they share everything they knew, and their teachings are great~!
I never thought about changing slowly the frequency. That was good info to file away in my continuing develop of my blog.
Thx 4 kickin’ knowledge!
Timothy
I think you need to post regularly, at least every 2-3 days, to stay fresh and relevant. Too many posts often means many are just padding, plus I find it annoying to get numerous posts from the same blog in my reader when most of them are not worth reading … you get to a point where you think its not worth reading 20 posts a week to get the one really good one every now and then.
Ya Timothy, if you want to change the posting frequency, you have to change it slowly.
Hi Ian, you have got a good point there. Indeed if you keep on posting something that is useless, not really important, people won’t like it. This is depends on what topic you are in, for me, 1 post per day should be just nice.
