The 3 Easy And Simple Tips To Motivate Yourself

December 16th, 2011

A lot of times, it is not that you do not know what you want to accomplish in your life, it is that you do not have the energy and the motivation to do what is necessary to accomplish what you want. You know that you have to read more books and do more research; you know that you need to study the market, you know that you have to make more cold calls, but you just did not do it.

i don't stop when i'm tired. i stop when i'm doneAnd the reason is that you do not have the drive to do it. When talking about drive and motivation, everyone will have the same problem. We are all human beings and we will feel tired and down from time to time. The key is to learn how to manage it and get through it.

Every one of us will feel like no lethargic and no energy to do what we supposed to do. First, we are not committed enough to our dreams and our goals. If we are 100% committed, we will do whatever it takes as if our lives are dependent on our success. Just like if I point a gun on your head, you will do whatever as I ask you to. When you have this kind of commitment, you will do whatever it takes regardless of whether you have the drive and motivation.

Besides that, we are human and we will feel down some times. Come on, even computers will have down time. We will fall sick and have no energy to move on. This is a very normal issue that every one of us will face in the future.

Other than that, it is because we are not passionate enough with what we supposed to do. When you are truly passionate with what you want to do, you will do it even if you feel tired. Just like playing golf. If you are passionate with it, you will wake up at 6am in the morning and get to the golf course even if it is cold out there.

These are the 3 main factors that will either provide us with the motivation and drive, or will keep us from taking action to achieve our goals. So how are we going to deal with the lack of motivation?

The 3 Easy And Simple Tips To Keep You Motivated

1. Read motivational and self-help books, or listen to the audio or watch the movie clips. This is very easy to do and easy to accomplish. It is self-explanatory and I do not have to discuss much about it here. Whenever you read a story about how a normal person who has gone through all the difficult times, but still able to make it through and create success in his life, you will feel motivated because you imagine that you are doing the same and achieving the same results.

This is why reading books, listening to audio or watching motivational clips can drive us. Those inspiring stories and words are actually describing us and make us feel like we are in their position.

So make sure you spend some time into reading these great materials everyday. You can spend 30 minutes or more to read books if you want to. After a few years, you will see the changes that this habit can bring you.

2. Take your time and talk to someone who shares the same dreams like yours and someone who is more successful than you. It is not to say that you cannot talk to those who are not as successful as you, but you have to understand that most extraordinary people who have done it, they will radiate positive energy and they are able to guide you with their own experience most of the time.

You just have to make sure you talk about things that are related to your dreams that you want to achieve. If you are going to meet up to talk about gossip, your time can be better spend somewhere else. You can try this out as simple as inviting these people to have a drink. Take a tea break and share with them your dreams and ask them to share their success stories with you.

Some people do not like to read, and if you are this type of people, this second tip will work great for you. It is about finding what works for you and make good use of it. It can be as easy as discussing or talking about how you can improve your sales with your colleagues or your sales team. You can also share your dreams with your close friends that you think will support and give you energy. However, make sure you do not share with those who will look down on your dreams and pull you down. You can choose to talk other topics with them, but not your dreams.

This second tip is very easy to implement. Most people are using it everyday, whether they are using it to inspire and motivate themselves to achieve what they want is another story. This technique is a double edged sword. So use it wisely and you will get energy from someone who is on the same boat.

3. Just do it. Yes, just do it mechanically without putting in any thought into your mind. Do not think about it and just do it like a robot. Once you get it started, you will feel the momentum coming and you will have the drive to continue to do it.

This is a very effective strategy and is guarantee working as long as you work on it. It is difficult to make cold calls, but if you can do it mechanically without thinking about it, after a few calls, you will feel that the energy comes to you and you will have the motivation to keep on calling. The same goes for every other action. You just have to initiate it and you will see the momentum bring out the energy.

These are the 3 simple tactics that you can try out anytime and at anywhere you want. You just have to try them and you will see how powerful they are.

What Really Matter And Motivate You

October 12th, 2011

Everyone knows that motivation is very important if they want to be successful in life. When you see how great people are able to accomplish outstanding results in their lives, most likely an image of someone who has a strong drive and are always ‘on the run’ will come into picture in your mind.

Find out what motivates youWe all know that you need to have a lot of drive and consistent energy in order to take action and move toward the direction that you want in life. Thus, finding out what actually motivates you will become a crucial task.

When you know what are the things that are motivating and driving you, you can then put them into your vision board, set them as goals and make use of them to energize you to take massive action.

So what really matter and motivate you?

Well, there are many things that can motivate and drive you. It can be money, fame and power, materials such as cars and big houses, pride, the feeling of hate to lose, your passion, the feeling of satisfaction, charity and helping others, and many more.

I do not know what drive you. You need to ask yourself and find it within you. We all have different things that will motivate us. For some people, it is for the money. They work hard and they go into business because they want to make a lot of money.

However, money usually is not the end, it is a mean to an end. For example, what you really want is not money. What you are looking for could be the feeling of satisfaction or the feeling of proving to your parents that you can do it.

Just like Donald Trump, for him, money is just the score of the game. What really motivates him is his passion in making big real estate deals and the feeling of winning in closing those deals.

Some people think that what they are looking for is money. But after they make all the money, they still feel lack in them. It is not the money that is motivating them. You need to find out what really drive you so that you can make use of this energy to keep you going in your life.

You have to understand that out of so many people who want to be successful in their lives, only a small portion of them actually achieve what they set to achieve. Why is this so?

The answer is that most people lack the drive to take action. Almost everyone wants to be financially independent, but majority of them fail to accomplish this aim because they do not have the motivation to earn the money, save and invest.

This is why knowing what really motivates you is a very important task here. If you know that you are working so hard to achieve what you want because you want to prove it to your dad that you can do it, I suggest that you put a picture of you and your dad in your vision board and let this picture be the fuel and drive you in your journey.

Knowing what drives you can also help you in clearing all the clouds in you and gives you a sense of peacefulness and passion. This is what is happening to most people out there. They are working on a daily basis, and if they do not like what they are doing, they will feel hatred with their work. As a result, they feel stress and always complain about their work.

Do not let this happen to you. When you are clear with what you want to do and what you love to do, you will never complain about your work. This is exactly the same as finding out what motivates you. When you know what are the hot buttons that can turn you on, you will be in control and are able to turn on the button at any moment you wish!

This is how powerful it can be when you know what really drive you. You will feel the energy flow in you and the fire within you. You will want to take action and desire for success. By then, you will have no problem taking action and nothing can actually stop you.

So take your time to discover what you really want and make is really motivating you toward the goals that you set. Why do you set those goals? What will you get from achieving them? Why do you want to achieve those goals in the first place?

If you can answer those questions, you will have a clue about what you really want and you will know what your ‘hot button’ is.

Look at all those great people who accomplished amazing results in their lives. They always have the drive and are always ‘hot’. They seem to have all the energy to wake up early in the morning and take action until later of the day. They can even sacrifice holidays to work on their dreams and their goals. Can you do this?

How To Pump Up Yourself In An Instant

June 23rd, 2011

Ever feel down and moody and you just do not want to do anything? You know you have dreams to pursue and you have goals to accomplish, however, you just feel like no energy and you do not want to take action. Do you ever feel this way before? Do you want to know how you can get yourself pump up in an instant?

Well, if you answer yes, continue to read on because I’m going to share with you one of the most powerful ways how you can do so. In fact, it is the easiest and fastest way to make you motivated and up again.

This technique is simple and you probably have used it before, just that you did not realize about it. So what is this powerful and effective technique?

It is this – using pump up music or songs!

I believe that you have the experience when you listen to a pump up song, you feel pump up right away and you feel motivated. Do you have this experience before?

Or have you ever felt sudden sadness because you hear a sad song that triggers your emotion at that time?

I bet you have these experiences before. This simply proves that songs or music can actually help you determine your state by focusing your thoughts in your mind. When you watch a movie and scene is very touching, in the same time, a music played during the scene, you will link that music with a very touching state.

After some time even if you are not watching that movie anymore, but when that music plays and you hear it, you will instantly connect to that touching state again. This is all because your subconscious has linked the music with the touching emotion. And guess what you can do with this? You can actually link motivation with pump up music and songs.

Let me prove to you how you can get pumped up within seconds. Go through the video below and tell me how you feel after you listen to it…

So how do you feel? Do you feel pump up? Do you follow the beat and move your body posture as well? The majority of people will feel pump up after going through the video and listen to that song above. The reason is because they have linked this song with very strong motivation emotion. And in the same time, the beat and the sound of the instruments help too.

When you listen to fast pace songs, you will actually get more energy. And when you listen to slow pace songs, you will feel less energetic, but with more emotion.

It actually depends on what kind of music and songs you are listening to. The main key here is not about what songs or music; it is about how you can use songs and music to pump up.

For example, try to listen to the first 2 minutes of this music below…

How do you feel? If you have never watched the movie, Pearl Harbor before, the music can mean nothing to you. Highly likely, your mind will search for similar music and try to relate this music to any state you are in. However, if you have watched the movie before, I believe that you will feel pump up when you hear the music.

Try to go through to the YouTube page and look at the comments there. The guy who gets the top comment says that listening to the music would make the trip to grocery store feel like a mission.

This is what I mean by pumping yourself up using music and songs. What songs or music you use is not really that important as long as it can motivate and turn you on.

There are a lot of great pump up songs and music out there. And I know that you already have your own in your mind, so why don’t you just give them a try and see what will happen?

The 5 Best Golden Life Lessons I Learned From Movies

March 31st, 2011

I believe everyone one of us watch movies right? Do you know that some movies actually come with golden life lessons? And I’m going to share with you the 5 best golden life lessons that I have learned from some movies that I watched.

Don’t just watch movies for the fun. Try to learn something from them as well. In fact, there is something that you can learn from every area of your life.

I know you can’t wait for those short YouTube clips below, so let us just dive directly into them…

1. Today Is A Gift

Kung Fu Panda is one of my favorite movies. And I like the golden lesson from this short video clip a lot. Here is what the master says in the video, “Yesterday was history, tomorrow is a mystery, but today is a gift. That is why it is called the present.”

Yes, you definitely cannot change what had happened, but you can focus on now and change the future. Adopt this principle into your life right now.

I once read a book from Donald Trump and he says, “my policy is to learn from the past, focus on the present and dream about my future.”

How true this is. A lot of people stuck in the past. They are too concerned about their past. They linger and dwell in their past. As a result, they end up wasting their life by not doing what they should be doing. This is why most people are living in mediocrity and misery.

Do not let this happen to you. What has happened happened. You can only learn the lesson from your past, but you have the control to focus on the present to create the future that you want.

2. Do Or Do Not, There Is No Try

This is a favorite quote from Star Wars when Master Yoda teaches Luke. And I believe you understand what Master Yoda means here.

Remember, you either do it or do not, there is no trying. You know it very well that when you do it with 100% commitment, you will definitely produce the results you want. Conversely, if you try to do it, you will never get the results you desire.

Trying sounds more excusable when you fail. You can tell your friends that you try to be successful, but you fail. What a nice excuse. This is why those who try, fail to get what they want.

Will you try starting a business with $1 million? Of course you won’t! When you put in the money, there is no trying, you will do whatever it takes to grow your business and make it profitable.

3. Never Give Up

Another great inspiring clip from the movie Rocky Balboa. In life, it is not about how hard you can get hit. It is about how hard you can get hit and keep moving forward. It is about how many times you fall and still get up.

Tons and tons of people are giving up their dreams and their goals everyday. Do not let this happen to you. So stop pointing fingers blaming other people or giving lousy excuse when you fail. Cowards do that and that is not you. You know you are better than that. So now you know how much you are worth, go out and get what you are worth!

In fact, if you read the success story of Sylvester Stallone, you will notice that he is actually adopting this principle in his own life. He is someone who just refuses to give up. He gets hit so many times but still he get up and keep moving forward. He is the true winner.

4. Protect Your Dreams

The movie is called The Pursuit Of Happyness. The movie was written based on a real life success story of a man named Chris Gardner. I have watched this movie and I’m very inspired by it. Get yourself a copy because it is very worthy.

What you are going to learn from this movie is that the guy has a dream. And he goes through a lot of ups and downs, sweet and sour before he finally achieved what he wants in his life. From the video clip above, you need to protect your dreams. When you have a dream, keep it, do not let others steal it from you.

Don’t let others tell you what you cannot do with your life. This is your life and you are the captain, you are the chef, you are the director and you can take control of it. When you have a dream, protect it and do whatever it takes until you accomplish it. If you want something, go and get it, period.

5. Our Deepest Fear

And finally, let me present to you, a powerful poem by Marianne Williamson…

Our deepest fear is not that we are inadequate.
Our deepest fear is that we are powerful beyond measure.
It is our light, not our darkness that most frightens us.
We ask ourselves, Who am I to be brilliant, gorgeous, talented, fabulous?
Actually, who are you not to be? You are a child of God.
Your playing small does not serve the world.
There is nothing enlightened about shrinking so that other people won’t feel insecure around you.
We are all meant to shine, as children do.
We were born to make manifest the glory of God that is within us.
It’s not just in some of us; it’s in everyone.
And as we let our own light shine, we unconsciously give other people permission to do the same.
As we are liberated from our own fear, our presence automatically liberates others.

I hope these 5 golden life lessons are going to be your guidance in your journey toward great success. Always refer back to these short clips and you will get inspired and motivated to move forward toward your dreams.

Tell me what you think about them because I believe you somehow watched one of the movies above. So you might want to share your thoughts about them. And if you want to, you can share these great video lessons with your family and friends.

The Power Of Persistence

March 28th, 2010

Do you know that persistence is one of the most important keys that you will need if you want to be successful?

No matter what you want to accomplish in your life, you must be persistence in it.

Lately I came across an article from the book, Chicken Soup For The Soul. I’m so motivated by the story and I really wish to share it with you here…

It was a bleak, rainy day, and I had no desire to drive up the winding mountain road to my daughter Carolyn’s house. But she had insisted that I come see something at the top of the mountain.

So here I was, reluctantly making the two-hour journey through fog that hung like veils. By the time I saw how thick it was near the summit, I’d gone too far to turn back. Nothing could be worth this, I thought as I inched along the perilous highway.

“I’ll stay for lunch, but I’m heading back down as soon as the fog lifts,” I announced when I arrived.

“But I need you to drive me to the garage to pick up my car,” Carolyn said. “Could we at least do that?”

“How far is it?” I asked.

“About three minutes,” she said. “I’ll drive – I’m used to it.”

After ten minutes on the mountain road, I looked at her anxiously, “I thought you said three minutes.”

She grinned. “This is a detour.”

Turning down a narrow track, we parked the car and got out. We walked along the path that was thick with old pine needles. Huge black-green evergreens towered over us. Gradually the peace and silence of the place began to fill my mind.

Then we turned a corner – and I stopped and gasped in amazement. From the top of the mountain, sloping for several acres across folds and valleys, were rivers of daffodils in radiant bloom. A profusion of colour – from the palest ivory to the deepest lemon to the most vivid salmon – blazed like a carpet before us. It looked as though the sun had tipped over and spilled gold down the mountainside.

At the centre cascaded a waterfall of purple hyacinths. Here and there were coral-coloured tulips. And as if this bonanza was not enough, western bluebirds frolicked over the heads of the daffodils, their magenta breasts and sapphire wings like a flitter of jewels.

A riot of questions filled my mind, Who created such beauty? Why? How?

As we approached the home that stood in the centre of the property, we saw a sign, “Answers to the questions I know you are asking.”

The first answer was: “One woman – two hands, two feet and very little brain.”

The second was: “One at a time.”

The third: “Started in 1958.”

As we drove home, I was so moved by what we had seen I could scarcely speak. “She changed the world,” I finally said, “one bulb at a time. She started almost forty years ago, probably just the beginning of an idea, but she kept at it.”

The wonder of it would not let me go. “Imagine,” I said, “if I’d had a vision and worked at it, just a little bit everyday, what might I have accomplished?

Carolyn looked at me sideways, smiling. “Start tomorrow,” she said. “Better yet, start today.”

This story has the title “One At A Time” and it is written by Jaroldeen Edwards.

How do you feel? Inspired and motivated?

I don’t know about you, but after I read this story above from the book, I’m feeling so motivated. And the principle taught in this story is so true.

No matter who you are, you can be successful and achieve all your dreams if you persist long enough.

The journey to success starts with one simple step. And it is the step that you take each and everyday that will responsible for the results you will be getting.

The sad news is, most people are lazy and they will never think about their future. Only if you are willing to do the work just for a little each day, over time, all the small actions that you took will accumulate and change your life.

Success is not about getting big results or big achievement, it is about the process of taking one small step at a time. And eventually you will reach your goals and achieve your dreams.

I hope you understand the simple principle in this article today. Let me know what you think about the story above, leave your comments.

5 Ways How To Stay Motivated All The Time

January 7th, 2010

Staying motivated is one of the most crucial factors to success.

Without the motivation, you’ll never take the necessary action to make your dreams come true. Most people procrastinate and give up simply because they don’t have the motivation to do it.

Successful people are motivated people. They’re motivated toward their goals and their dreams. They’re willing to do the necessary task and take the right action to produce the results they want in their life.

Are you motivated?

If you are not, chances are, you’ll procrastinate and give up whenever you face any obstacles in your journey. Or you may put things off whenever you face with distractions.

So in this post, I’m going to share with you the 5 ways how to stay motivated all the time. As long as you follow through the techniques below, you’ll be able to feel motivated from the inside and get things done.

Once you’re motivated, you’ll feel like you can get things done, you’ll be able to achieve all your goals, you’ll feel like you can take on the whole world and you’ll have the confidence to be successful…

1. Review Your Dream, Goals And Your Purpose

The first and the easiest way to get you motivated is by reviewing your dreams, goals and your purpose to achieving them.

It is just like if you want to be rich for your family and whenever you see the picture of your family hanging on the wall, you’ll feel committed to take action.

This is why reviewing your dreams and your goals will motivate you. Especially your purpose. Why do you want to achieve what you want in your life?

If your goal is to be a millionaire, why do you want to achieve it? The reason is what propels people into a motivated state. In other words, if your reason is not strong enough, you’ll never produce the motivation that will keep you going.

Some people are so motivated to take action because they have a strong reason to achieve their goals. It is a MUST achieve for them and not merely a wish.

2. Changing Your Focus

When you’re not feeling motivated, it is because you’re not focusing on something that will motivate you.

For example, when you’re feeling down, it is because you’re thinking about sad things in your mind. You are focusing on the wrong thoughts. Can you tell me what you think about most of the time when you’re happy?

The answer is you’re thinking about happy events in your life whenever you’re feeling happy!

This is what I mean by changing your focus. You have to focus your thought on something that will motivate in your life. Such as a luxury car, a million dollar, a fat bank account, a happy family, a lovely wife and so on and so forth.

If you want to be rich because you’re from a poor family or because you’re deeply in dept, then focus on your family and your will to be rich because you’re in dept.

This will help you to think about why you want to be rich and give you the energy to go on from within.

3. Listen To Songs And Music That Will Motivate You

This is one of the strategies that I’ll do when I don’t have the motivation. Listen to a certain song that will get me going really help me a lot in this.

I believe that there must be a certain song or music or even movie that will make you feel motivated when you listen to it.

It is the trigger that will motivate you, so make good use of this.

You’ll feel motivated when listening to a certain song is because in the past, you listen to that song when you’re in a motivated state. This create a strong chain in your mind that whenever you listen to the song, you’ll automatically trigger the motivated state you’re in. Great technique!

4. Spend 30 Minutes To Read Self-improvement Books

Again, this is an easy step, but most people will never do it. Whenever you feel like procrastinating and don’t feel like want to get things done, spend 30 minutes to read some self-improvement books that will make you motivated again.

It does not matter which book you read, as long as it can get you motivated. You can even read articles in my blog if you feel that what I’m sharing with you is going to motivate you.

I have a lot of self-improvement books. I’ll buy at least a book each month. Right now, when I’m typing this post, there are a few in front of me on my desk. They are Live The Life You Love by Barbara Sher, Having It All by John Assaraf, Tough Times Never Last But Tough People Do by Robert Schuller, Awaken The Gian Within by Anthony Robbins, The Power Of Positive Thinking by Norman Vincent Peale and more…

You see, I read a lot of them and I reread them whenever possible. As long as the material can motivates you, you should invest time to digest it.

5. Rest, Relax And Enjoy

Sometimes, when you’re feeling overload, you can try to rest and relax to gain back the energy of motivation.

Try to have a walk in the garden, get close to the nature, do some exercises, go for sport, jogging, swimming or go shopping.

This technique is great when you’re feeling stress and overload. You will want to distract yourself and relax your mind so that when you get back on your task later, you can stay even more focused on it.

Don’t feel guilty by taking time to relax yourself. In fact, some of the experts claim that the more you relax and rest yourself, the more productive you’ll become.

Just make sure that you take action and do what you need to do. Rest and relax is not a way for you to procrastinate, but it is a technique for you to get motivated.

Whenever I visit bookstore and scan through all the books in business, self-help, marketing, finance and success-related category, I’ll feel motivated. I can feel a surge of energy flow through me. There are so many books that I would like to buy and read.

I don’t know about you. I’m just telling you that you should find out what will motivate you in your life and leverage on it to make you motivated.

Don’t Quit And Never Give Up

December 31st, 2009

I came across this poem and I think it is very inspiring.

I’m not sure who wrote it, but I found it from an interview with Brian Tracy.

This is exactly what you need when you’re down in your life. This is what you need when you face obstacles in your journey to success.

This poem will be the source of motivation for you to turn your life around…

Don’t Quit

When things go wrong as they sometimes will.
When the road you’re trudging seems all up hill.
When funds are low and the debts are high.
And you want to smile, but you have to sigh.
When care is pressing you down a bit.
Rest, if you must, but don’t you quit.
Life is queer with its twists and turns.
As every one of us sometimes learns.
And many a failure turns about
When he might have won had he stuck it out:
Don’t give up though the pace seems slow
You may succeed with another blow.
Success is failure turned inside out
The silver tint of the clouds of doubt.
And you never can tell how close you are.
It may be near when it seems so far:
So stick to the fight when you’re hardest hit
It’s when things seem worst that you must not QUIT.

How To Motivate Yourself

November 8th, 2009

What drives you? What gives you the energy to keep moving on?

Do you know why sometimes you’re motivated to do something while sometimes you just want to put things off?

What you have to do is to notice your states, the thought you run through your mind, your breathing pattern and your physiology when you’re in a motivated state.

Once you noticed all these factors, you will come to better understand what drives you. And if you know what drives you, you can then repeat the same process and keep yourself motivated all the time whenever you want to.

Conversely, you can take note about the factors when you’re in a lousy state. What thoughts you’re running through your head when you’re feeling unmotivated? For most people, when they’re in a lousy state and when they’re trying to put things off, they will focus on the pleasure of not doing the things and the pain of doing it.

Let me give you an example, when you’re feeling motivated, most probably you’ll be thinking about being successful in your life. You’ll think about driving the car you have always dreamed about. You’ll be thinking about having all the money that you desire and traveling around the world with your loved ones.

Your breathing will be deep and your physiology is in a certain position. This means that you are focusing on the pleasure of achieving your dreams. You’re thinking about what you want to accomplish in your life.

Therefore, if you know that you have to focus in these thoughts to be in a motivated state, do you think that you can control your thought and make yourself motivated when needed?

Of course you can! You just have to think the exact picture in your head, breathe the same way you’re breathing when you’re feeling excited and make sure your eyes, your facial expression and your physiology is in the exact position like when you’re feeling motivated. Then you will feel motivated.

It is something like copy and paste. You do exactly the same thing, and you will get the same results.

One plus one will always be two. So if you do the same thing just like when you’re feeling exciting and passionate, you will get back the same results.

In other words, you can choose to feel and be in the states that you want. Anthony Robbins says, emotion is created by motion. And I think it is very true.

When you’re feeling bored and sleepy, try to move faster and you will feel energetic. It is your motion that created your emotion.

I believe you’ve learned something useful today. You don’t have to use coffee or candy to stay awake. Instead, you can use your motion to produce the kind of energy you want.

Make good use of what you’ve learned here today. Try it and you will get the results you want.
