3 Action Keys Toward Your Goals

So what are you going to after you’ve set up all your goals? A normal person will get excited and feel motivated for awhile, and then they will just lose their motivation and forget about the goals that they’ve set. They will go back to the life they always have and do nothing about their goals. One of the main key to success is to stay motivated towards goals. People know what they should do and how to achieve their goals, but they just don’t do it! They procrastinate. Procrastination is the number one killer of success. Therefore you must learn how to overcome procrastination and focus your mind in such a way that you are always motivated toward your goals.

Goals!

Here are 3 strategies to help you overcome procrastination and make you excited again toward your goals.

1. Make public commitment
Well, when you make your goals public, and the moment everyone knows about your goals, you are putting yourself on the line that you MUST achieve it. Some friends will make you never forget your goals. Maybe you will feel shameful if you fail to achieve your goals, because you’ve already told your friends that you can do it. And this is what we want! So that you will try with 200% of your energy and do whatever it takes to achieve your goals. You don’t want to disappoint your family and get laughed by your friends right? So make a public commitment for your goals!

2. Create a 24-hour plan
Now this is what you should do after you’ve set your goals. Often, the first step are the most difficult to take. And if you miss out the first step, most likely you will never take any actions anymore. Thus, you must create momentum or inertia towards your goals. The best thing to do is that you take 3 action steps in 24 hours after you’ve set your goals. For example if your goal is to set up an online business and sell cookbook, what you can do is:

a. Register for a domain name and buy a hosting service.

b. Write down your complete business plan of how you are going to make more money with your cookbook business.

c. Pay $200 to register for your business

If you take all these 3 action steps, I believe that you will treat your business more seriously and you are going to take constant actions.

3. Find your supportive group
This is what you should be doing throughout the whole process. Keep on looking for people who have the same interest and goals just like you, and be friends with them. The number one reason why people lose their direction and motivation is because of the people they hang around with everyday. Just imagine this, if all your friends have the same goals just like you.

And in this case, assume your goal is to make more money online. No matter where you go, you can hear your friends keep saying how to make money online, how to increase traffic, conversion rate, and which is the best way to market your business. When you go chatting in MSN, you can hear this, when you go for bowling with your friend, you can hear them discussing all these things. Guess what is going to happen?

Will you feel more motivated? Of course! You will also join their discussion and talk about how to make more money online! So you see, it is so important to have a supportive group and the same interest of people hanging around you. That is the reason that forums are so hot, because it is a place for people of the same interest to talk. Hence, no matter how, just find a group of support and make it a commitment to push each other to success.

Good advice! I posted my own action plan a couple of months ago. I’ve kept up with it as much as possible, considering time constraints from my regular job.
