5 Guaranteed Steps To Achieve Your Goals

January 26th, 2009

Goal SettingAchieving your goal is not something difficult. In fact, as long as you’re serious in making your goals come true, you’re definitely able to achieve them. It is just a matter of time to achieve your goals.

One of the most common reasons people fail to achieve their goal is that they don’t even know what their goals are! Some people do not know about the power of goal setting and hence, they never set any goals in their life. While some people heard about goal setting, they just did not do anything about it. What a waste if you are not using this powerful skill to the fullest.

Another reason is that some people had set their goals, but they are not setting their goals correctly. Let me give you a very simple example. If you set your goals to make $100,000 in just one month, this will be a wrong goal. Not that it is impossible to be achieved, however, you must consider your current situation.

Just like if you’re only making $1,000 a month and you set your goals as to earn $100,000 in just one month, it will be almost impossible to achieve. This is a common mistake that most people will do in goal setting. It is true that you must think big and dream big, however, the goals you set must be realistic.

It is preferably to set smaller goals when you just starting out. This is so that you can build up your confidence because it is easier to achieve smaller goals. Don’t think about reaching the sky in just one step. You have to break down your goals into smaller goals and write them down. As the saying goes, “Rome was not built in a day”.

So find out what you really want in your life, set your goals and be realistic in goal setting. Follow through the guides in Goal Setting in my blog. There are tons of great information, tips and strategies how to set and achieve your goals here in my blog.

Here are the 5 guaranteed steps how you can achieve your goals…

1. Be 100% Committed In Achieving Your Goals

You must be committed and serious in achieving your goals. If you are not serious, you’ll never take action and I’m sure you’ll procrastinate. If you’re not serious in achieving your goals, why do you set goals in the first place? So if you’re going to set goals, make sure you’re serious about it and always take the necessary action to make your goals come true.

Too often, people are lazy to take the necessary action to make their goals come true. So you have to make it a ‘do or die’ situation. When you know that you cannot fail, you’ll definitely achieve your goals. Burn all the bridges so that you have no other choice but to achieve your goals. If you do so, you’ll put in 100% commitment into making your goals come true.

This is one of the most obvious differences between a successful person with someone who fail to achieve their goals in life. Successful people treat their goals seriously and do whatever they can to make their goals come true. However, ordinary people will give excuses, blame and delay their actions.

2. Affirm Your Goals Twice A day

Affirming your goals once after you woke up and once before you sleep is a MUST DO if you are serious to achieve your goals. Many people underestimate the power of affirming their goals. Think about it, affirming your goal is not something difficult, it only takes you a few minutes a day and if you do this everyday, the result it brings are amazing.

Therefore, try to apply this simple but effective technique at least twice everyday. If you truly follow through and do this everyday, you’ll submerge the idea of achieving your goals into your subconscious mind. You’ll keep on thinking about your goals and be motivated all the time to achieve them.

One of the success strategies is that you must always think about what you want often. Successful people think about what they want most of the time while ordinary people think about what they don’t want most of the time. The more you think about your goals, the more you’re going to take action because you’re motivated about it.

3. Stop Blaming and Giving Excuses

If you fail to achieve your goals, which most of the time you’ll face, don’t blame anyone or anything and don’t give any excuses. Instead, take 100% responsibility and try to learn from the feedback. Why did you fail to achieve your goals? Are you using the right strategies? Are you goals too high? Are you taking enough action? Learn from the feedback that you received and you’ll improve in your life.

People will give excuses and blame other factors when they fail to achieve their goals most of the time. But if you’re someone clever, you’ll know that when you blame and give excuses, you’ll lose the power to control and hence stay at the same point in your life.

Success is not about blaming and giving excuses. It is about learning and improving. The more you learn from your mistakes the more you’re going to improve. The best is to learn from other people’s mistakes. Smart people learn from their own mistakes and feedback; smarter people learn from other people’s mistakes and feedback.

4. Get Out Of Your Comfort Zone

Are you ready to take the necessary action to make your goals come true? You must be willing to get out of your comfort zone if you want to achieve your goals. You’ll definitely change your life slowly as you achieve what you want in your life and getting nearer toward your goals everyday. So be ready to get out of your comfort zone.

You don’t have to change your life drastically, but you must be willing to improve your life a little bit everyday. Often, it is the small changes that will bring you toward your success. For example, you can develop the habit of affirming your goals twice a day until after you’ve made this a habit, only then you start to develop other empowering habits.

5. Get Busy Paying The Price

Achieving your goal is easy, once you’ve set your goals, get busy paying the price. Meaning, you have to keep on taking action to make your goals come true. Goal setting is not a magic wand, you’ll not achieve what you want by just writing it down. You’ll have to actually do something to make your goals come true. If you’re not doing anything, don’t expect to see results. It is impossible that success will fall from the sky automatically.

Many people seem to misunderstand and thought that once they set their goals, they’ll achieve their goals automatically. The real in making your goals come true is in taking consistent action. So ask yourself whether are you ready to sacrifice and take action to make your goals come true?

These are the 5 guaranteed steps that as long as you follow through, I’ll guarantee that you’ll achieve your goals. These are not big secrets, they are just plain mindset and habits. Success require no secrets, but a lot of hard work and determination to make it come true.

Always remember this, success is about getting things done, it is a process and not a destination. So get ready and be prepare to do what are supposed to do right now. Start paying the price to make your goals come true.

How To Succeed In Bad Economy

January 23rd, 2009

Succeed In RecessionThis is a hot topic right now, the economy is in its bottom and many people had been laid off because of that. There are basically 2 simple ways how you can deal with the bad economy and create the success you want in your life…

1. Think Positively and Constructively

If you’re one of them who had been laid off, think positively even though you’re jobless right now. Constructive and positive thinking are always the success strategies that you’ll to achieve amazing results in your life.

Here is an example of how positive thinking will lead you to your success even in a down economy, How Positive Thinking Leads You To Success. Often, when people faced with difficulties or setback in their life, they will tend to think and focus on the problems rather than the solutions.

Take your time now and think about it. Is there a time where you face with difficulties and you focus on the problems instead of the solutions?

Positive thinking is not a magic power that will bring you what you want in your life automatically. It is not like if you keep on thinking about how you can solve the problems and earn more money, you will automatically become rich. This is not the case. Positive thinking is a science.

When you think positively, you will tend to focus in finding solutions to the problems rather than dwelling on the problems and getting nowhere. You know it very clearly that if you are in debt and if you are not doing anything about it, nothing will ever happen and you will still be in debt.

Many people thought that positive thinking is a magic wand. They thought that once they think about something positive, they’ll automatically get what they want.

Thinking positively is just a start, it is the first step to change your life because of the decision you make. Someone who focuses on the solutions will make different decision than someone who focuses on the problems. It is the decision that you make and the action that you take that will determine who you are.

If you’re someone who keep on thinking about enjoying your life, where to have your dinner, which girls to tackle, what to buy, where to have fun, where to play and etc, you’ll make the decision based on your this thinking of yours and hence, you are who you are today.

However, if you think constructively and positively, for instance, you think about how you can make more money, generate more sales, how you can create more value for your customers and how you can help your prospects and so on, you will definitely live a totally different life than you are right now.

Your thinking shapes your life. You are who you are because of your thinking. With that means, in order to be successful, you must always think about something that will bring you closer toward your goals. If you want to be a millionaire, you must always think about becoming a millionaire, think about how you make your first million and how you’re going to use or invest the money you’ve made.

This is one of the most powerful success strategies that one can adopt. Successful people think of what they want most of the time. While ordinary people think about what they don’t want most of the time. When they economy is down, successful people will think about how the can benefit from it, how they can earn more from it and how they can create more value from it. However, ordinary people will think about how many people are going to lose their jobs, are they one of the unlucky ones who will get laid off, and all sorts of negative thinking.

So always remember, no matter what happened in your life, make sure you think positively and constructively. Once you think positively, great things follow. This has been proven by the Law of Attraction. When you think positively, you will attract and create positive results.

2. Take 100% Responsibility and Make No Excuses

This is one of Jack Canfield’s favourite success principles. You’re not able to change anything if you are not responsible for it. Think about it, when recession hit your country, what is the first thing that comes into your mind? Is it a good thought or a bad thought? Most people will have bad or negative thoughts about it because people don’t take 100% responsibility.

When you fail in the exam, what did you tell yourself? Who will you blame? The lecturer? For setting such a difficult questions? Or because the lecturer has a lousy teaching style? You’ll tell yourself all sorts of excuses and blame the whole world except yourself.

If you lost your job because of the recession, ask yourself this question, “why am I the one who has been laid and not others?” Why the company chooses you to be laid off instead of others? There must be a reason and one of the most common reasons is that you’re not creating the right value for your company. That is why it is you that has been laid off and not others.

It is the same in studies. If you truly take the responsibility as a student and study the subject you want to score, do you think that you’ll fail the subject? Not likely. Will you definitely score it? No, but you definitely increase the chances of scoring it. The same goes in your life.

When you take 100% responsibility, you’ll have the power to change the situation because you’re the one that is controlling the situation now. You believe that it is you who shape your life and therefore you’ll have the power to change the situation. So stop blaming and stop all the lousy complaints from now on.

Take 100% responsibility and take the right action today. If you want your boss to give you a pay raise, then take 100% responsibility and start to create more value for your company right now.

These are the two success strategies that you must use in your life especially during the recession. Remember, be the captain of your own soul, you are who you are because of what you think and stop blaming and stop complaining, take 100% responsibility from now on.

If there is one book that will change your life, I’ll say it is Adam Khoo’s Master Your Mind, Design Your Destiny. It is a book that is so practical that you can follow through the step-by-step strategies how you can be the one you want to be in your life. It is the book that I strongly everyone who wants to be successful to grab.

How Constructive Thinking Leads You To Success

January 20th, 2009

Constructive ThinkingThrough the application of the principle of constructive thinking you can attain your worthy goals. The natural outcome of living by creative principles is creative results. Believe and create is a basic fact of successful living. You can make your life what you want it to be through belief in God and in yourself.

One thought you must always hold is that you can attain a higher level for your life. Few people realize their real possibilities. Many believe that ‘ordinary’ people must remain ordinary all their lives. That concept is false and a slander on human nature and on the God who created you.

Every individual forms his own estimate of himself and that basic estimate goes far toward determining what he becomes. You can do no more than you believe you can. You can be no more than you believe you are. Belief stimulates power within yourself. Have faith in faith. Don’t be afraid to trust faith.

Why do some people seemingly have the touch of failure? Why do things go so wrong for them, and so often? Why do they experienced an ever accumulating series of irritating frustrations, their projects and plans so frequently going badly? In most cases, analysis reveals that ineptness is inherent in the individual, rather than in the circumstances. If things continually go wrong for you, perhaps the psychology of wrongness is in you and should be corrected.

Before you can change the circumstances and your external situation, you must first change your inner self.

Do not waste time complaining about conditions or about other people. Honestly face the possibility that your thinking may be wrong; that your trouble may be within yourself. It isn’t that you lack ability, but rather that your mental slant and approach is tinged with failure thoughts and, naturally, failure follows.

Also, your attitudes may be harsh, critical and unfriendly toward other people, with the results that they withdraw from you without themselves understanding the reason. In subtle ways a lack of personal inner harmony is quickly reflected in inharmonious personal relations. And your relationship with other people are profoundly important to your own successful living.

It is so important to emphasize that a basic factor in successful living is not how much you know or how hard you work, although neither is to be minimized. The most important factor is what you believe and how sincerely you believe it.

If you think you are beaten you are;
If you think you dare not, you don’t;
If you want to win but think you can’t
It’s almost a cinch you won’t;
If you think you’ll lose you’re lost;
For out in the world we find
Success begins with a fellow’s will;
It’s all that in the state of mind.
Life’s battles don’t always go
To the stronger and faster man,
But sooner or later the man who wins
Is the man who thinks he can.

So if you believe you can do it, you definitely can do it. No matter what kind of success you desire in your life, you must first believe that it is possible for you to achieve it. If you don’t believe that you can do it, you’ll never do it. However, believe alone is insufficient. You need to take 100% responsibility of for your life.

Take 100% Responsibility Of Your Life

Like what Sir Jack Canfield always teach in his success principles, the number one success strategy is to take 100% responsibility of yourself. For things to change, you must first change. If you think that you are too fat, it is because of you. Maybe you’re taking too much junk food. If you fail your exams, it is because of you, not your lecturer. Take full responsibility so that you are able to change the situation.

So stop complaining and stop making excuses from now on. It is all the decision that you took that makes you who you are today. If you are someone lazy and keep putting things off, it is because of the lazy decisions that you have made in your life that shape you into this attitude.

If someone tells you, “I could have been a marathon runner, but I lost my leg in a car accident.” Try to tell that to Denny Chipollini of Skippack, Pennsylvania. He was in a car accident that severed both his legs. When you ask him about this he’ll tell you that he refers to this accident as a ‘gift’ because it changed his life for the better. Despite all these odds coming against him, he managed to ran 5 kilometer on his artificial leg. He even found a non-profit organization called Generation Hope and used his ‘gift’ to inspire people to overcome all odds and adversity with his ‘no excuses and no limits’ attitude toward life.

Here is an interesting post regarding taking responsibility, The Millionaire Habit #3 – Take 100% Responsibility. If you are really serious to achieve the great success you desire, for your own good, read that post of mine and get to learn about one of the most powerful success strategies in your life, be responsible.

The Number One Weakness Most People Possess

January 16th, 2009

Number One WeaknessPsychologists say that one of the most common weaknesses of personality is that people often do not want to succeed. Somewhere along the line they have learned that it is a dangerous thing to succeed, as it imposes upon them the burden of responsibility to live up a success status. So they deliberately, though unconsciously, seek ways to keep themselves inferior by emphasizing their weaknesses. Are you one of them?

Now it is a fact of life that each person is made of stronger and weaker areas of personality. The question is, which are you going to dwell on? Which are you going to emphasize? If you specialize on the weaker areas in your personality you will become weak. On the other hand, if you stress the stronger areas you will become strong. It is as simple and certain as that.

But we must be careful not to confuse real weaknesses with self-assume ones. Learning to accept ourselves is the first step in overcoming the weakness of inadequacy. Most of us, at least those of us who are troubled with the inferiority complex, pay far too much attention to ourselves, to our self-assumed weaknesses and drawbacks. We become self-conscious about things which are not important. We feel that everyone is noticing them when in reality they are not.

I believe that everyone has this kind of feeling. Don’t let this feeling beat you down. If you’re far, do you think that it will be an obstacle that prevents you from getting what you want in your life? Let me tell you a story here. A young boy complaint to his parents and says, ‘nobody likes me because my nose is too big.’

His mother then tells him, ‘Name 5 acquaintances who do not like you because your nose is too big.’ So the young boy gives 5 names and a little later, his mother took the time to place a call to each of these young people. As soon as his mother got them on the phone, she asks them to name the outstanding characteristic of her son’s personality. Each one had to think a while, but this was the result of the question:

One says that it is his friendliness; another says that he is usually good in arithmetic; a girl says he is a marvelous dancer; and so on. Not even one of these people mentioned this boy’s nose as his outstanding characteristic. Apparently no one but he himself had any consciousness of that nose.

So it is true that many of us pick out some little characteristic which we consider to be a weakness and spend a great deal of effort convincing ourselves that because of this weakness we cannot succeed!

Here is an amazing truth that I’m going to share with you. Did you actually know that by all the rules of aerodynamics, the bumblebee cannot fly? But the bumblebee doesn’t know it and just keeps on flying! He is too fat, he is too big, and his wings are too short, but he just keeps going. Here is an example of How Positive Thinking Leads You To Success.

This is what you must learn to apply in your life. Positive thinking has always been one of the most powerful success strategies around. Sometimes you may think that it is because of your physical look that will drag you down and stop you from getting what you want, however, it isn’t always the case. It is the false generalization that you have in your mind that causes you to stop and fail.

Even if it is true that your physical look is dragging you down in your road to success, you can still overcome this by positive thinking. Always remember this phrase, “Setbacks are given to ordinary people to make them extraordinary.”

Read this interesting article, Problems Are Opportunities In Disguise, and I believe that you’ll agree with me.

Plan Backward To Achieve Your Goals

January 13th, 2009

I met this man on a railway train and he taught me a good technique for reducing tension. A distinguished looking gentleman, he was headed for business convention in the South. He settled down in his rommette across from me, pulled out a small briefcase and proceeded to surround himself with various stacks of paper. He had brought his office with him, and he was getting ready to go to work right there on the train. But before he starting, he did a strange thing. From his briefcase he pulled a black enamel plaque about the size of a postcard. Written on the plaque in large white letters were two words: PLAN BACKWARD. The man propped these words on the table before him and went to work.Curiosity finally got the better of me, and I leaned across the aisle and said, ‘Pardon me, I hope you don’t mind if I ask you a question?’

The gentleman took off his glasses and looked at me and said that he didn’t mind at all; what could he do for me?

‘Well,’ I continued, ‘I’ve seen a lot of these signs that say PLAN AHEAD. But I’ve never seen on that says PLAN BACKWARD.’

He laughed. ‘All it is,’ he said, ‘is a reminder to myself that I’ve got to organize my time.’

‘But why the backward? Why not ahead?’

‘Because,’ he said, ‘planning backward contains the idea of a specific goal. You choose a goal, picture yourself accomplishing it, then plan backward until you know exactly where and when you must start.’

Plan BackwardThis is one of the success strategies that mentioned in one of the books I read recently, from Dr. Norman Vincent Peale. It is a brilliant idea indeed. You should apply this idea in your life as well.

You decide where you want to go in your life, you decide your destination, and you plan backward, you strategize how you can achieve it. In other words, you reverse-engineered it. For example, you decide how much you’re going to worth in the next 10 years, how much you’re going to earn and where are you going to live. After you’ve decided this, plan backward and create a roadmap on how you can get to this point in your life 10 years from now.

In fact, to achieve what you want in your life is simple. You just have to decide what you really want in the future, visualize it, create a plan on how you can achieve it and keep on taking action to make it comes true. However, many people don’t know about this, they thought that they need a lot of materials to achieve it. They thought that they need to have a lot of money to achieve what they want. They just don’t have the time to make what they want comes true.

It is the excuse that you gives that prevents you from getting what you want in your life.

And because it is this simple, many people don’t even care about it. When you ask someone where will he be in the next 10 years or what he’ll be doing in the next 5 years, he’ll answer you he don’t have any idea about it. This is the biggest difference between someone successful and someone who live an ordinary life.

It is easy if you want to be successful and achieve what you want in your life. Just keep on thinking about what you want and where you want to go. Think about it 24 hours a day. If you do this, I’m sure that you’ll automatically come up with a plan of how you can achieve it.

This is the success strategy that successful people are using. They think about what they want most of the time instead of thinking about other things which they don’t want.

Michael Dell’s Success Story

January 9th, 2009

Michael Dell Success StoryHere is a very inspiring success story about a billionaire who became a very successful entrepreneur at a very young age. Just like every other success people, he started with almost nothing but the ideas in his head.

Michael Dell is a very committed guy, when he created a plan, he’ll pursue it with full strength. And this explains that how he made his $1,000 by just selling stamps at the age of 12! Can you imagine that? Selling stamps at such a young age and make $1,000 from that. Many of us can’t even save $1,000 from our salary. But he made his first $1,000 by just selling stamps.

He later sold the newspaper subscription for Houston Post, which developed his confidence making him even more money. It is told that he made enough money to buy a BMW by the age of 16. Most people can’t earn enough money to buy a BMW even with their entire life saving. But this guy, Michael Dell, made enough money to purchase a BMW at the age of 16.

Michael then planned his life well at the age of 19. He knew exactly what he wanted to achieve in his life and eventually, he achieved it. Knowing what you want in your life is one of the most important success strategies that you must adopt. If you don’t know what you want to achieve in your life, you’ll never achieve it. First set your target, then keep on pursuing it. Just like what Michael Dell did at the age of 19, he planned his life and set his goals to achieve higher success.

Michael later went to college to study biology as his parents want him to be a doctor. However, a year later, he quit his studies and continue to pursue his dreams. He wanted to be a successful entrepreneur. This is what you have to do as well if you know exactly what you want. You need to have the courage to pursue your dreams.

Michael developed his intense passion in computers when he was 15. When his parents got him an Apple computer when he was 15, instead of using it, he dissembled the computer into parts to find out how it worked. After that, he bought an IBM computer and studied more about assembling computers. Which he finally mastered the technique that made him a billionaire at a very young age (Millionaire Habit #7 – Be 100% committed).

In 1984, Michael started his dream venture with $1,000. He followed through his business plan and keep on working on it. In his room in the university, he assembled computers for customers according to their requirements and sell them directly to his customers.

His business idea was new because he assembled all the computers according to his customer’s preferences and sell directly at a low price. He was the first to introduce the direct sales method in the IT industry. The direct sales clicked and there was huge demand for computers. Dell knew that he could beat computer dealers by selling a lower price with good technical service (Millionaire Habit #1 – Always Exceed Expectations).

Just like every other successful people, Dell started small. Most of his orders were placed through friends and acquaintances who spread the word around. And by steadily developing his business, he moved to a small office and hired a few people to take orders and upgrade machines. Avoiding a third party to sell computers turned out to be profitable and the company grew at a seriously fast clip.

Later in May 1983, Dell incorporated the company as Dell Computer Corporation. In 1985, Dell started to design and make computers with components sourced from outside. His focus, right from the beginning, was on customers and good service. He kept his vision and move toward his dreams step-by-step.

All his hard work paid off handsomely. By 1992, Dell Computer Corporation entered the Fortune 500 list of the largest companies in the world. At the age of 27, he became the youngest CEO of a Fortune 500 company. And the rest is history.

Another one of the success strategies that Dell used is that the company was one of the very first to sell computers on the Internet. This too became a huge hit. In 1999, Dell launched Gigabuys.com, an online store featuring computer-related products.

Not only that, his business kept on growing and become the No. 1 player in the American market. Can you see it now? How Michael Dell started from $1,000 and built his giant IT business worth more than $100 billion. It has been a very successful journey for Dell.

In 1999, with his wife, he formed the Michael and Susan Dell Foundation, which has an endowment of more than $1 billion and focuses on children’s issues. This shows that Dell knows the miracle of tithing. If you want to be a successful i your life, you must first make other people successful. If you want to be a millionaire, donate and help more people to become richer. This is the law of the universe.

How Positive Thinking Leads You To Success

January 5th, 2009

Positive ThinkingIt is astonishing how even successful people can go badly when you take on the wrong attitude and response the wrong way. Here is an interesting story. Years ago there is an old gentleman who ran a lunch counter along the highway. It was a time of depression in business. The old man was fortunate enough to be a little blind and deaf because he didn’t have to read about the depression or hear the negative conversation of his friends. So, not knowing there was a depression, he had a remarkably successful business.

He painted his stand, he delivered a good article, he put up bright signs along the road which almost conveyed the aroma of his sandwiches. He made his merchandise so delicious that people who ‘had no money’, would stop and buy his food.

The old man worked hard and sent his boy to college. There the boy took courses in economics and learned how bad things were. When he came home for Christmas and noticed the thriving business, he went to his father and said, “Pop, something’s wrong around here. You shouldn’t be as successful as you are. Why, you act as if you didn’t know there was a depression on!”

And he told his father all about the depression, and how people were retrenching everywhere. As the father began to think it over and look around him,and listen to the negative thoughts, he said to himself, “Maybe I’d better not repaint my stand this year. I’d better save my money because there’s a depression. And I’d better cut down on the amount of hamburger I put in these sandwiches. And what’s the use of putting signs if nobody has any money.” And so he stopped all positive efforts.

The result? Business soon fell off. When the boy came back for Easter vacation the father told him, “Son, I want to thank you for the information you gave me about the depression. It’s absolutely true. I feel it in my business. A college education, son, is a wonderful thing.”

That is what happens when negative thinking gets lodged in our minds. Such thought should be drained out constantly. You should start your day right mentally and it will continue right.

Too often, there are many negative thoughts in our life. People don’t really understand the nature of positive thinking. A positive thinker does not refuse to recognize the negative, he refuses to dwell on it. Positive thinking is a form of thought which habitually looks for the best results from the worst conditions. It is possible to look for something to build on, it is possible to expect the best for yourself even though things look bad. And the remarkable fact is that when you seek good, you are very likely to find it.

Sometimes you just have to ignore what other people has to say. Just like what Sam Walton did. If you want to learn Sam Walton’s success principles, read this post of mine, Sam Walton’s Wal-Mart Philosophy.

“Go the other way. Ignore the conventional wisdom. If everybody else is doing it one way, there is a good chance you can find your niche by going in exactly the opposite direction. But be prepared for a lot of folks to wave you down and tell you that you are headed the wrong way. I guess in all my years, what I heard more often than anything else was: a town of less than 50,000 population cannot support a discount store for very long.” Sam Walton.

So if you’ve decided to go for it, just do it. Don’t think that don’t hesitate. The more you think the more negative thoughts you will discover and the harder for you to move on. Sometimes when an idea was born in your mind, just do it. Of course you need to plan it, but don’t “over-plan” it.

Too much of planning will cause stagnation. After all, the only way to get results and reach your destination is to take action. This is one of the success strategies that most people never really care about. This is because it is so common that most people underestimate the power of taking action.

The longer you dwell on an idea yet to take action, the more negative thoughts are going to fill your mind. So start to practice positive thinking start from today. Here is an interesting article regarding positive thinking and how you can adopt this habit in your life, The Magic Of Positive Thinking. It is a great article that I strongly recommend everyone to read it.

Positive thinking is not magic, it is not a voodoo kind of stuff, it is a science. This is because when you think positively, you will act positively, and hence, every decision you make will yield positive results. Learn to be an optimistic start from now on.

No matter what happens in your life, just think positively. This is the success strategies that you will need to pave your path to success.

Prepare Yourself In 2009!

New Year 2009Happy New Year! As 2009 approaches, goal setting and planning have never been so important. As what you always do in the previous years, you need to plan and act according to your strength and take advantage of the opportunities in front of you. In this new year, you need to do everything better especially in this turbulent economy.

So are you ready to take on this new year? Are you ready to be the millionaire you always dream of? Are you ready to weight at your desire weight? Do you want to be the one you always wanted to be? Do you want to be successful and achieve all the goals you’ve set for yourself?

Like what I mentioned in one of my previous posts, it is the first step that you take that will determine your future. You can read it here, The First Step To Change Your Life. So you need to plan everything well in this new year. It is the planning and goal setting are the starting point. Once you’ve set your goals and get your plan ready, all you need to do is just to follow through your plan.

Think about the most successful people you know, what makes them successful? Is it the talent that they have? Is it the luck they have? True, they have luck and some talent. But these are not the main factors. Successful people know exactly what they want, they work hard to make their dreams come true and they do whatever they can to create the opportunities, overcome and learn from difficulties, and they make most of their ‘luck’ that comes in their way.

If you put it another way, goal setting and planning are the very foundation of success. So whether you are working towards that promotion, re-skilling to meet the new challenges of these recessionary times, or searching for new ways to progress your life-long ambitions, you really will be more successful if you set goals and plan carefully.

Here is what you can do right now…

1. Create a vision in your mind of what you really want to achieve in your life.

You definitely need to know what exactly you want to achieve in your life. I believe that I’ve been stressing this all day long. If you are a reader of my blog, you’ll notice that I’ll keep on saying that you need to know exactly what you want before you can achieve it.

After you’ve decided your destination, you just need to move toward it to reach it. How you get there is another matter. If you use the right strategy, you’ll get there earlier. Conversely, if you use the wrong strategy, maybe you’ll not get there, but as long as you keep on correcting your course, you’ll somehow get there eventually, but with a longer time.

That is why knowing what you want is so important in your life. Once you know what you want, you’ll be able to set goals, create plan, make better decision and move toward there. You won’t be the lost sheep anymore.

2. Set clear goals and create a plan to achieve your goals.

Goal setting… my favorite subject. Well, to help you in this, just go through all the articles in the Goal Setting category. You’ll find a lot of quality posts regarding goal setting. I even have created an e-book about goal setting. You can grab it here, Goal Setting Formula.

To me, Goal Setting Formula is a complete guide to setting goal and how you can drive yourself to become a super achiever. Some people even told me that the price for this e-book is low and it is a valuable grab.

The best way for goal setting and planning is to get yourself a diary type of book, write down your goals and create the plan of what you need to do everyday, every week and every month to achieve your goals. Keep that book close to you and keep on review it. Every time after you wake up, take a look at your goals and affirm your goals.

3. Motivate yourself and keep that momentum going.

One of the reasons for procrastination and inaction is because of the lack of action. In order to drive you into taking massive action, you need to have the motivation to keep going on. Motivation is something that you need to do everyday. It is not a skill, it is something that you need to practice to keep yourself driven.

Even successful people will have times where they don’t have the motivation and feel like don’t want to get anything done. It is just because they know how to handle it and they have handled them before, so their mind has been conditioned to overcome this situation.

Therefore, if you are a beginner in this, you’ll need to motivate yourself constantly so that your mind will be conditioned in this way that will keep you driven all the time.

There are a lot of ways how you can motivate yourself. For example, reading the Chicken Soup series, inspirational books, articles, my blog, share your thoughts with positive people, etc.

4. Put in 100% commitment into achieving your dreams.

How committed are you toward your goals? Are you willing to do whatever it takes to achieve your goals? Many people don’t, that is why most of them did not achieve what they want in their life.

Take the time and think about it. Are you really committed to achieve your goals? Are you doing what you are supposed to do to make your dreams come true?

When you put in 100% commitment into achieving your goals, nothing can ever stop you. You’ll definitely achieve what you want in your life, you’ll be unstoppable and you’ll be the one you always wanted to be if you put in 100% commitment.

If you are looking for any success strategies, this is the one that I’ll say you must have. Be 100% committed in your dreams, your goals and everything you do in your life.

5. Relax and enjoy yourself once in a while.

You need to be balance to live a successful life. So do plan to have some holidays to relax your mind once in a while. However, don’t have too much of it. The best is to have it after you’ve accomplished something. It can be your small goals or even your big goals.

These are basically what you need to do before you start your journey to success in the year 2009. I hope that you’ll find this post useful. Remember, it is a brand new year, if you failed to achieve your goals last year, it is not going to be the same in this new year.

It is time to say bye bye to 2008, and welcome the new 2009! Happy new year!
