Easy Motivation

May 9th, 2007

Looking for a few tips and tricks to get that motivation flowing? We’ve got you covered! Throw a handful of the tips below into your daily routine and you’ll be up and running in no time at all.

1. Scare Yourself.
When it comes to living a better life, your comfort zone is among your greatest enemies. Many of the things you wish to do or be require a push beyond that zone, so it’s time to start building your fear-breaking muscles. At least once a month, do something that scares you and expands your circle of comfort.

2. Get Connected.
You’ve got a handful of exciting goals and you’re ready to take on the world…now what? Getting motivated won’t do you any good if you don’t know what you should do with it. To solve the problem, get in touch with someone who has already achieved the goals or dreams you’re after. You’ll have a source of guidance, support, and proven results.

3. Excuses, Excuses.

After enough repetition, we forget that our empty excuses for not doing something about the things we want are just that – excuses. Make a list of your most common excuses and next to each one describe why the excuse isn’t valid and how you can quickly overcome the challenge it avoids.

4. The Greatest Lesson.
Happy customers may be good for business, but when it comes to making improvements, unhappy customers take the cake. It is only when you make a mistake that you have the chance to learn and make something better. The same is true for you. Look to every setback you experience as a valuable learning tool and put the fear of failure behind you once and for all.

5. The Shadow of Fear.
More often than not, the overwhelming fears that keep you from what you want are actually small obstacles casting big shadows. Spend time closely examining the things you fear and you’ll quickly find a molehill where there once stood a mountain.

6. Movies to the Rescue.

Watch inspiring movies. If a particular film struck a chord within you, chances are good that it will achieve the same affect again. You don’t have to reinvent the wheel. Return to the movies that once filled you with hope and excitement and enjoy the same results each and every time.

7. The Greatest Regret.
If you wait long enough, you’ll run out of time. Everyone may avoid this fact, but it’s a fact just the same. Without a doubt, the number of times you can put off your goals is shrinking every day. Don’t wait until it’s too late. Take a deep breath, make the decision, and get moving. Grab more interesting articles from The Millionaire Secrets.

The Paterns Of Habit

May 8th, 2007

Habits

A very unusual experiment was conducted by John Fabre, the French naturalist, consisting of processionally caterpillars, a type of caterpillar that blindly follows the one in front of it. This explains the name processionally caterpillar. The experiment consisted of several of these caterpillars, a flowerpot filled to the rim with dirt, and pine needles. The caterpillars formed a complete circle around the rim of the flowerpot, with the first one touching the back of the last one. The pine needles, the food of the processionary caterpillar, were placed in the center of the circle. The caterpillars began their procession around the flowerpot, one following the other in a circle.

This went on hour after hour, day after day, for an entire week. In the end, every one of the caterpillars dropped dead of starvation. The one thing that could have saved them was only six inches away, but without purposeful thought or action, the caterpillars continued with a habitual routine that eventually proved too much to endure. This is happening to people you know, maybe even you, although not to this degree. Get stuck doing the same old thing every single day and your goals, sitting only inches away, are as good as gone. Plain and simple. You might think it’s a little too simple, but falling into a routine can destroy your life.

I have very strong beliefs about this because I have seen it happen to people close to me, as I’m sure you have as well. Good friends and family start off with bright hopes for the future, but their routine begins to take their place. ‘No time, no time,’ is a common excuse. After seventy years of having no time to do the things you have always wanted to do you’ll end up with nothing but a good excuse in the end. This is your life we are talking about here. It’s worth taking the time to break the pattern of habit and creating the changes you wish to make. There is little more that is as important as the life you create and the good you leave behind. Recognize if you are in a routine and break free. Sometimes it’s a matter of an attribute we all seek in life- confidence. Permanent change requires courage and a strong belief in your ability to succeed, something that we all doubt from time to time.

The routines I’m referring to are much deeper than a morning process of a shower and shave. I’m talking about turning off your brain and letting autopilot kick in. Doing the same things you did the day before with no plans to change the pattern any time soon. You know the drill – wake up, shower, work, home, sleep, repeat. This is no way to live, and you know that. But it’s still hard to break free once the routine has gotten hold of you. All hope is not lost.

If you want to turn off the autopilot and start taking control of your life it takes only one moment to make the decision. And then everything changes. You’ve heard it a thousands times, and it’s a good thing, because it’s true. If you keep doing what you have always done in the past you will keep getting the exact same results.

People experience a partial insanity when it comes to routine. Perfectly logical creatures believe that doing the same thing again and again will get different results. That’s crazy! If you want to lose weight but continue with the same eating habits, you won’t lose weight. If you want to have more energy but stay up until four and get up at six it won’t happen. You have goals, just like everyone else. If you are stuck in a routine you won’t accomplish them. Be honest with yourself about this one. It’s the only way you’ll realize the need for a change before you can enjoy improvement.

What does it take? It takes a decision. A choice of what you really want to do with your life and the corresponding actions to make it happen. You must create a plan for your future and the goals you want to accomplish. If you know where you are going and how to get there you will not be disappointed in the end. The pattern will continue until you do something to change it. That change can happen whenever you are ready; today or twenty years from now. It’s up to you. Knowing how exciting life can be when you achieve your goals and dreams, I hope you decide to make the changes sooner than later. Secret To Overwhelming Happiness & Success

May 5th, 2007

Do you have what it takes to earn a million dollars? The skills, the resources, the contacts? How about complete the Boston Marathon? Write a 300-page novel? Despite what you’re probably thinking, you do have what it takes to accomplish each of these things. Not only that, but you have what it takes to make your life into anything you wish. And I have the proof to convince you. However, before we jump to the solution, we have to get clear about the problem.

The Danger of Doubt
If you aren’t sure of yourself and your ability to create a better life, you’re sure to fall short of the goals and dreams you set for yourself. This may sound like an obvious idea, but the truth is that thousands of people struggle to change their lives without ever recognizing their greatest obstacle: Doubt. If you approach a challenge with disbelief in your heart and mind, you don’t have a chance. Yes, you may make a bit of progress here and there, but achieving the dream takes more than that; it takes absolute confidence and belief. So how do you create that feeling? How do you convince yourself that you do, in fact, have what it takes to get everything you want?

The Smallest Secret of Success
You may not believe that you can earn a million dollars, run a marathon, or write a book, but can you save ten dollars, run down the block, or write a single word on a blank page? We both know the answers. And because you’re capable of taking these small steps, you have what it takes to achieve the ultimate goal. Why? Because every goal or dream is a series of steps taken one after the other. They may seem overwhelming and out of your league, but the fact is they are all puzzles with many small – and attainable – pieces. A successful business is merely a combination of decisions, letters, phone calls, and meetings. Small steps that built upon one another to create success. Achieving your ideal body is simply a combination of eating the right daily meals, avoiding the unhealthy temptations, and putting one foot in front of the other as you jog around the block. Everything you want is just a series of small steps away.

A New Approach to Creating a New Life
Looking at things from this viewpoint will give you the confidence you need to begin, continue with, and accomplish all of your most important goals and dreams. Focus only on the next step in front of you. Not the goal in total, not the next ten things you need to do. Only the single step in front of you. Confidence… Without it, your goals and dreams of a better life don’t have a chance. But what a different picture you create when you are certain that you can get what you want, when you want it. And by focusing only on the next step in front of you, that confidence is as good as yours.

From this new approach, the question is no longer a matter of whether or not you can achieve your goals; it’s a matter of whether or not you can get and stay motivated to do the things you need to do to get what you want. Grab more interesting articles from The Millionaire Secrets.

Daily Motivation Tips

May 4th, 2007

Focus on one thing at a time. The first thing to do is bring your desire for change into focus. With too many factors racing through your mind at a single time, things can quickly become too cluttered, to chaotic, and too overwhelming. Think of one thing, and one thing only, that you wish to change about your life. It doesn’t have to be a large goal; it’s actually better to begin with something very small. You may have several ideas in mind, but for now you must decide on a single goal and put the others aside.

Take the smallest step.
Far too many people have been fooled by the myth of the overnight success. They believe achieving a goal is built upon massive steps and superhuman strength. Nothing could be farther from the truth. The reality is that success is built upon a combination of tiny steps taken in the right direction. It’s a phone call, a new book read, or a jog around the block. It is the small things you do each day that bring you success, steps that anyone can complete. With your chosen goal in mind, think of a single action you can take today that will bring you a step closer to success. It doesn’t have to be a major step; any action in the right direction will do. When you complete this first miniature step, take the next one in line without concerning yourself about any of the steps ahead. Focus only on the next thing you need to do.

Recognize your progress.
With the steps above in place, you will begin to immediate improvement. And while it might not be the massive changes you ultimately desire, it is a step in the right direction, and that is the key to success in all its forms. Always keep this question in mind: Am I any closer to my goal today than I was yesterday? If you answer ‘yes,’ then you’re on the right path and you will achieve your goal. Take it one goal at a time, one action at a time, and be proud of the small accomplishments you make each day. Do these things, and you will succeed. After all, there is no other way.

1. Reproduce inspiring passages or excerpts. Have you ever read a particular book passage that left you feeling driven or inspired? This is a tool you should never leave behind. Copy these moving paragraphs down by hand or print them out with your computer and always keep them close at hand.

2. Create a personal goal card. Write – or use your computer to print – one of your most important goals on a sheet of paper or card stock. Cut out in the size of a business card and keep it in your wallet or purse. For a longer-lasting card, use self-laminating sheets from your local office supply store.

3. Put your voice mail to use. Have your wife or husband, children, or close friends call your home or cell phone and leave a message of hope, love, and support for the things you are trying to change about your life or goals you wish to accomplish. When times are tough, the perfect solution will be just a call away.

4. Connect your goal with your children. Here’s one that you can really get creative with. Begin by writing your goal on a large sheet of paper with a big, bold marker. Then take a picture of your children or spouse holding the sign and hang the picture in the places where motivation is needed most.

5. Print out your favorite motivational quotes. The right quotation at the right time can sometimes be all you need to trigger your motivation and take action. Instead of hoping this happens to you by chance, the tool below will make sure it happens whenever you want it to. Open your personal computer’s word processing program. Set the page orientation to landscape and add a classic border. Type in your favorite motivational quote in the center of the page and print onto a heavier stock of paper. Display wherever motivation is needed!

6. Schedule reminders with your computer or phone. Think of one thing you can do, just a single action, that will bring you closer to reaching your goals. When you have it in mind, record it into your computers or cell phone’s calendar and set the alarm to go off at the time the action needs to be completed.

7. Make use of your admiration. Connecting with those whom you admire or respect is a quick and easy way to tap into your internal motivation at a moment’s notice. Find a picture – from an old photo album if a family member, online if a historical figure – and tape it up in the location where it will best serve its motivational purpose. The Commitment Of Sylvester Stallone

May 1st, 2007

Surely, one of the best examples of the power of commitment and how ‘doing whatever it takes will get you what you want’ is the story of Sylvester Stallone. At his peak, Stallone was one of the most popular and highly paid stars in Hollywood, commanding a fee of US$20 million per movie. was he just born under a lucky star? Was he naturally talented actor? Was he at the right place at the right? Hardly. He was someone who seemed to have all the odds stacked up against him.

His family was so poor that his mother had to give birth to him on the doorsteps of a school. A blotched delivery by students caused a facial nerve to be severed, leaving him paralyzed on the right side of his face. As a result, Stallone had to live the rest of his life with slurred speech. He even had to deal with having drooping lower lip and being made fun of because of his name ‘Sylvester’ (associated with the Looney Tunes cat). Despite all these limitations, young Stallone dreamed of becoming an actor and inspiring millions of people through his movies.

First he enrolled in acting school and then started going for auditons. Predictably, with his wooden acting, his dopey looks and his slurred speech, Stallone was rejected for every part he applied for. But he never give up. Doggedly he just kept changing his strategy and taking action. The way he landed his first part is a fine example of how he was willing to do whatever it took. When he was rejected after yet another audition, he pulled up a chair in front of the manager’s office and sat down, refusing to leave unless they gave him a chance. After sitting there for hours, they were so moved by how much he wanted a chance that they relented and gave him a part. Although he appeared for a couple of minutes (as an extra), it gave him the first breakthrough he was after.

Unfortunately, that experiance was followed by yet another string of unsuccessful attempts at getting another acting job. At that point, his wife told him to give up his ‘stupid dream’ and get a real job. His reply was, ‘If i get another job, I would lose the only thing I have got going for me… my hunger.’ ‘By quiting and getting a job, I would be selling out on my dream’. Stallone actually wound up so broke and desperate that he was force to sell his dog for $50 in order to survive. It was the saddest moment in his life because his dog was the one friend he god left.

At the lowest point in his life, he watch a boxing match between the world heavyweight champion Muhammed Ali and Chuck Wepner, an underdog that everyone thought would be defeated within three rounds. What no one expected was Wepner’s determination and tenacity. He lasted the total of fifteen rounds with Ali, just refusing to go down. Sly was so inspired by what he saw that he had visions in his head about a movie that he was going to write. He started writing profusely for 84hours non-stop until he finished the manuscript for ‘Rocky’. He was so excited by the script because in his mind he knew that this was going to be the movie that would change his life and his fortune.

But when he went round attempting to sell his script, everyone felt that it was too predictable and that nobody would be interested in watching a movie about boxing. But he didn’t give up. He kept on going and going until one company made him an offer of US$75,000 for the script and the right to make the movie. This should have made Sly overjoyed but his dream was to be an actor and not a writer.

So, he told them that the condition of sale was that he be cast as the lead actor. They objected saying ‘You’re a writer! You not an actor!’. ‘There is no way we will let you act!’ But Sly stood his ground and refused to sell the script if he wasn’t the lead actor. They then increase their offer to US$255,000 up to US$1 million, but Sly kept insisting that he fitted the role of ‘Rocky’, and no one else. Although he was broke and hungry, he refused to sell out his dream for a six-figure pay check. That was his level of commitment.

Eventually, they reluctantly agreed, on the condition that the movie was made on a shoe string budget of less than a million dollars and Stallone would get only US$35,000 for the writing, and acting. Sly would however, get the percentage of the profits, if the movie made money. He agreed immediately. The first thing Sly did when he got his money was to go in search of the man who bought his dog to buy it back. When he finally tracked down the man, he offered to buy his dog back for US$100. The man declined his offer saying that he was not interested. Sly upped his offer to US$500. Still the man refused. Sly again upped his offer, this time to US$1,000. The man still would not budge saying ‘No amount of money will ever convince me to sell this dog.’

Sylvester Stallone

While most of us would give up at this point, Sly knew that if he was committed to do whatever it takes, he would find a way. Eventually, he did get his dog back. He paid the man a whopping of US$15,000 and also gave him a part in the movie as part of the deal. When Rocky was launched at the box office, it grossed over US$171 million and was nominated for ten academy awards (including best actor), eventually winning an Oscar for best Picture and Best Director. Sylvester instantly shot to fame as an action star and lucrative offers came in for future blockbusters, which were to eventuate in First Blood, Rambo and the Rocky sequels. His eventual success came from the fact that to him, becoming an actor was truely a must.

Sylvester Stallone believed that when you are committed enough, there is always a way! So start by asking yourself now, are you committed enough to be a Millionaire?
