The Power Of Dreams

April 29th, 2007

At the age of 8, Tiger Woods set his goal of breaking every record set in golf and to become the world’s number one golfer. He accomplish this feat at 13 years later at the age of 21. How? He spent those 13 years focusing on his game in order to take it to the level he needed to make him to be the best.

At the age of 12, Steven Spielberg knew that what he wanted to do was to tell stories to the world by making movies. It was this specific goal that directed him to spend his ime making home videos at the age of 12 and exposing himself to movie sets at universal studios at the age of 18. It was these years of focused effort that allowed him to build the level of experiance and skill he needed to make some of the best movies around.

Did Bill Clinton happen to be at the right place and at the right time when the Democrats nominated him to run for the presidency? No way! It took years of focus ad planning in one upward direction that won him the most powerful position in the world. Born the son of a poor widow in America’s poorest state, Bill Clinton seemed to have had every handicap, yet Bill had a clear vision that it would be his mission in life to improve the lives of millions, by leading his country one day. It was this clear vision that motivated him to run for elections on student committees in every school he attended. In fact, at one time, he was barred from running for any more college committee positions because he was already heading far too many! In Hillary Clinton’s best-selling book, Living History, she recounts how he went around telling everyone that one day he would be the president of the United States, when they were both studying in Yale University.

Success Principles
We need to be very specific in our dreams and our goals in order for us to be success. This may sounds simple and obvious enough, but yet there are many people can’t achieve what they want in their lives, this is because they don’t even know exactly what they want in the first place! Well, keep in mind of this : unless you have a specific goals, there are nothing tangible for you to focus your time and energy on. This means that you must have a specific goal for you to concentrate your energy and time on. Once you have your specific goals of what you want, then only you can create a strategy that will leads to your goals. Grab more interesting articles from The Millionaire Secrets.

The Secret Of Success

April 28th, 2007

THE SECRET OF SUCCESS
There was once a boy who wanted to seek the secret of success. One day he approached a wise man living up in the mountain. When he found the wise man at the hut, he asked, “Wise man, can you tell me the secret to becoming successful in life?” The wise man was silent for a while. After a moment of silence, the wise man led the young lad to a nearby river. They kept walking into the river until the boy’s head was fully submerged in the water. The boy struggled to keep his head above the water. To his astonishment, the wise man did not help him. Instead, the wise man held the boy’s head in the water. After a few minutes the wise man pulled the boy out of the water and they proceeded to walk back to the hut. At the hut the wise man asked the young boy what he desired most when his head was submerged in the water. To this the young boy quickly responded, “Of course, I wanted to breath, you old fool!” To which the wise man replied, “Son, if you desire success as much as you wanted to breath, then you would have found the true secret of success.”

SUCCESS PRINCIPLES
Success is a matter of choice. If we have enough strong reasons, there is nothing that we cannot do. Once we have the reasons to do something, we will surely find the ways to do it. A mere wish would not make things happen. It is a burning desire, turned into an obsession that will generate that energy to bring you to achieve any goal that you may desire. The Iron Horse

April 28th, 2007

THE IRON HORSE
An old couple made their way down the mountain to witness the “iron horse”. As they approached the railway station their hearts began to pound faster and faster since this was the first time they were going to witness a train – the iron horse. Both of them were amazed at the size of the iron horse. They looked at each other and “Ma” asked “Pa”, “What do you think?” “Pa” said, “it will never get moving”. Just then the whistle blew and the train started moving slowly and then gathering speed. After a while the train began to gain more speed and disappeared around the sharp corner. “Ma” asked “Pa” again, “What do you think?” “Pa” was still recovering from his shock, and he replied, “I don’t think that it will ever stop”.

SUCCESS PRINCIPLES
Momentum is one of the ingredients for success. Success is a matter of starting to take action and maintaining the momentum. Just like a kid learning to ride a bicycle. As long as the bicycle is moving the kid will not fall off the bicycle. The moment he stops cycling, the kid will fall off the bicycle. When you set your goal, never lose momentum by being distracted or discouraged by others or circumstances.

Feed Each Other

April 27th, 2007

FEED EACH OTHER
Upon his death a man was given a tour of both heaven and hell, so he could select his final destination. First he was taken to hell. He saw a lot of people sitting at a long banquet table loaded with all kinds of delicious food. However, he noticed that all the people seated were unhappy, and looked frustrated. They each had a fork strapped to the left arm and a knife strapped to the right arm. Each had a four-foot handle which made it impossible for them to eat. With all kinds of good in front of them they were not able to taste any of it. After this scene in hell he was taken on a tour of heaven. He noticed that the people in heaven were also seated at a long banquet table loaded with all kinds of delicious good. There was a difference here because he noticed that the people here were cheerful and enjoying themselves. They also had forks and knives with a four-foot handle. They were busy eating because they were feeding each other. Each person in heaven was feeding the one across the table from him and was being fed in return. The people in hell were unable to eat because they were trying to feed only themselves.

SUCCESS PRINCIPLES
In order to succeed in a big way we need help from others. The only way to help from others is to give help to others. You can get everything you want in life if you will help enough other people get what they want. Think about “giving” to people and you will be rewarded many folds. The win-win mentality will provide us with a better alternative to deal with others.

The General and The Boy

April 26th, 2007

THE GENERAL AND THE BOY
Once, there was a General who wanted to cross a river. He was unsure of the depth of the river, and whether his horse could make it across the river. He looked around for help and saw a little boy nearby. He asked the boy for advice. The boy looked at the size of the General’s horse and paused for a moment. He then confidently told the General that it is safe for the General and his horse to cross the river. The General proceeded to cross the river on his horse. As he approached the middle of the river, he suddenly realized that the river was, in face, very deep, and he almost drowned. After he recovered from his shock he shouted at the boy and threatened to punish him. The boy was stunned and innocently replied, “But General, I see my ducks crossing the river everyday without any problem, and my ducks have shorter legs than your horse”.

SUCCESS PRINCIPLES
If you need advice, get it from people who know what they are talking about. Napoleon Hill says that, “opinion is the cheapest commodity on earth”. Make sure you review for yourself the opinion of others before you act on them.

Hope Is A Duty

April 26th, 2007

HOPE IS A DUTY
Dr. Henry Viscardi was born without legs, and spent his first seven years as a charity patient in a hospital. He struggled to survive as a severely crippled child and as a young man, horribly deformed. The world was unkind and ignorant of the challenges facing him, in a body 3 feet 8 inches tall. Only at the age of 27, did he get his first artificial legs. Suddenly a whole new world was opened to him, and it transformed his life. He began helping armless and legless veterans at Walter ReedHospital during the World War II. He found the woman of his dream and together they had four daughters. Dr. Viscardi founded the Long Island Human Resources Center for Disabled Child and Adults. He turned his adversity into an opportunity to teach thousands of physically challenged people to have faith and believe in themselves and their potential. In one of his renowned speeches he quoted, “Hope is a duty, not a luxury. To hope is not to dream…but to turn dreams into reality. Blessed are those who dream dreams and are willing to pay the price to make them come true. As for me I do not choose to be a common man. It is my right to be uncommon if I can. I seek opportunity, not security. I want to take the calculated risk, to dream and to build, to fall and to succeed. It is my heritage to stand erect, proud and unafraid to think and act for myself. I have a wish for you. It is the same with I have for disabled people. I suppose the conventional thing for me to do would be to wish you and them success and happiness for the rest of your lives. But success and happiness as the world measures it is too easy. I would wish you meaning for all the remaining years of your life.

SUCCESS PRINCIPLES
How are we, compared to Dr. Henry Viscardi? Most of us are gifted with good health and a perfect physical body, and yet we are nowhere compared to the courage, persistency, contributions, and positive mental attitude of this physically deformed man. Most of us are not handicapped physically, but it is a shame that we are mentally crippled. It is this “mental suicide”

How To Manage Your Stress

April 8th, 2007

Stress, tension, frustration… Do you experience any of these feelings throughout your day? If so, you know just how hard it can be to get motivated and excited to improve your life when weighed down by these negatives. Never fear, there is a solution! By putting just a handful of simple tips to use, you can break free from the stress and start each day with a clear mind, a relaxed body, and a motivated spirit!

1. Create a CD of Your Favorite Songs
Listening to your favorite music not only takes your mind off of your worries but also reduces blood pressure and a rapid heart beat. Because music is so closely tied to memory, listening to music brings to mind happy memories, which in turn affects the part of the brain that regulates these and other automatic physical responses. So make a list of your 15 favorite songs, visit an online music store to download each one, and create your very own stress-busting CD.

2. Control Your Breathing
Stressful situations lead to short and shallow breathing, which in turn leads to an increased heart rate and creates feelings of tension and anxiety. To reverse these effects and reduce your stress, completely empty your lungs with a large sigh. Then, breathe in deeply from your belly on up, hold your breath, and exhale slowly. You may want to follow the 4-7-8 rule. (4-second inhale, 7-second hold, 8-second exhale.) This simple exercise sends better oxygen content to your cells, improving your health and ridding yourself of the tension and stress.

3. Laugh
Studies by Dr. Lee Berk and Dr. Stanley Tan have found that laughter ‘lowers blood pressure, reduces stress hormones, increases muscle flexion, and boosts immune function.’ It also triggers the release of endorphins, which act as the body’s natural painkillers and produce a sense of well- being. The lesson? Laugh! Expose yourself to humor as often as possible through jokes, funny stories, comic strips taped up in your office, or anything else that makes you laugh.

4. Make Your List
Even though you may not realize it, there are most likely specific situations that cause stress time and again. By putting your finger on exactly what they are, you can begin to fix or avoid the things that constantly add stress and tension to your life. Get out a sheet of paper and a pencil. Begin by thinking back to stressful times and what specific things caused them. Then, keep the list handy for two weeks and record the cause of any stress you experience during that period. After two weeks, create a master list of stress-causers and spend time thinking of specific remedies to each one. The solution may be as simple as taking a different route to work or getting up fifteen minutes earlier to handle tasks in the morning.

5. Focus on Now
Thinking about the next ten items on your list of things to do is enough to cause anyone stress. That’s why it’s vital that you focus on only one thing at a time. Allowing only one task into your thoughts at a time – the one thing you are involved with right now – will improve your productivity, decrease mental mistakes, and relieve your mind of feeling overwhelmed as well as your body of feeling physically stressed out and drained.

6. Hold a Pencil between Your Teeth
A recent study at the University of California found most people have a set of ‘smile muscles’ which, when activated, send signals to your brain that you are happy. In turn, your brain releases the chemical that register happiness. In fact, you don’t even need to personally feel happy at the moment to create the internal response of happiness. Simply holding a pencil between your teeth can be enough to trick your brain into thinking you are happy and releasing the corresponding chemicals into your system.

7. Wake Up with the Sun
You’re sound asleep and dreaming peacefully. And then, out of nowhere, you’re shocked awake by the screeching of an buzzing alarm. It’s easy to see why such a routine can get things started off on the wrong foot. Instead of being startled every morning, try using natural light to wake you up. Studies have shown that the light of dawn alerts your body to wrap up your dreams, raises your body temperature, and begins releasing the hormones you need to function throughout the day. So leave the blinds open tonight and wake up with the sun. (Afraid of oversleeping? Keep an alarm nearby set to five minutes after your normal wake time. This way, if the sun doesn’t do its job on day, the alarm will.)

As the stress begins to fall away from your daily life, you’ll finally be in a position to make the changes you’ve always wanted to make. You’ll have the energy and excitement you need to take on the world – but how do you make it last? How do you turn on that motivation and keep it going day after day? How do you learn the skill of internal drive? A skill? It’s true. You can actually learn how to develop and master the skill of getting and staying motivated to do the things you’ve always wanted to do. The better you are, the easier it is to get yourself moving in the right direction. Just imagine how much your life would improve if you had the ability to create a powerful drive to act at the drop of a hat. Anything you wanted to be, do, or have would be yours. The Meal Of Inspiration

April 6th, 2007

From defining your goals to moving past your fears, a great deal of focus has been given to the process of achievement. But what if the process never even begins? Every trick won’t do you any good if you don’t have the mindset to start. That’s why today’s message is focused on overcoming an obstacle that doesn’t just slow progress – it makes it impossible. And it’s not just advice that I want to share. Instead I have a true story that will give you the hope and inspiration you need to proceed with confidence toward your goals.

The Billion-Dollar Decision
Thousands cover the landscape from New York to California, from London to Tokyo. It doesn’t matter how young or old you are, chances are good that you’ve walked into one, most likely more than once. And regardless of what you think about its image and impact, no one can argue that McDonalds isn’t an empire in the world of business. The point of this McDonalds’s story isn’t about what they serve over the counter each day, nor does it have anything to do with the debate over where these restaurants should and should not be located. No, this story is different. It’s one of dreams and inspiration. And the leading role is played by its legendary leader, Ray Kroc. With the Super Bowl just ending, college basketball’s big dance on the horizon, and the Olympics just a little more than a year away, we are constantly reminded that greatness often begins at an early age. We hear of children becoming athletes only years after they learn how to walk, about young stars working decades to reach the pinnacle of their sport. This theme, success being achieved by those who started at an early age, is found in much more than sport.

Busting the Myth
Entrepreneurs like Bill Gates of Microsoft and Phil Knight of Nike, both beginning their drive toward success at an early age, lead us to believe that all success follows this path. And if success in life requires an early start, millions around the world have already missed their chance. But then a man named Ray Kroc comes along and gives us hope. He gives us proof that an early start isn’t as important as a deep desire to make the most of our lives. When most people believe their life is winding down and heading for retirement, Ray was just beginning to create one of the most successful businesses in history. To begin working toward his dream at twenty years of age would be quite amazing given the size and success of his company at the time of his passing. Thirty or forty years old would be almost ridiculous. So how old was Ray Kroc when he took the first step toward growing McDonald’s into a worldwide phenomenon? 52. Even now I can’t believe it. But it’s true, and it gives hope to every single person out there who feels that their time has passed. As long as you’re alive and breathing, your time will never pass. But the history of Ray Kroc and his decision to achieve a dream late in life is about much more than age. It’s about a lesson we all must learn if we are to be truly happy and successful.

What’s the Real Lesson?
What I want to do more than anything else is to get one point across: you must take all that you are at this moment and make the most of it. Excuses about age, time, money, and every other item we throw into the mix to help us feel better about putting our dreams on hold will end up killing our hopes for a happy and fulfilling life. Ray Kroc teaches us that age is never an issue when it comes to getting what you really want in life. Use his story to inspire action if you are at an age when you felt that your time had passed. But this is only one example. If you look hard enough you will find a story like Kroc’s that shatters every excuse we hide behind. People from every walk of life, facing extraordinary odds, have achieved great things and created truly amazing lives. Proof that you can do it as well.

An Exercise to Inspire Success
It’s time to take what we have learned and put it to use. If you’re human, you probably have a few excuses that you tell yourself about why you can’t do something about your goals today. Perhaps the time isn’t right or the time has already passed. Maybe the money isn’t there or the people around you just won’t support your plan. Whatever it is, I want you to make a short list of the most powerful excuses you tell yourself.

When you have them, I want you to do something a little different than usual. Instead of writing down all of the reasons why your excuses aren’t true, I want you to act as if you’re giving advice to a friend who has told you about his or her goal but ends it with the excuses you use for putting off following through. Think about it. What would you tell your best friend if he or she came to you and said…’I really want to (goal), but I can’t because (excuse).’ What would you say to change their mind? What would you say to motivate them past their excuses and onto success? When you know what you would say to them, say it to yourself and follow through. The reason for this role reversal is simply that we are great at giving advice but rarely as good at taking it ourselves.

By changing the roles you can get your best advice out of your head and hard to work for you and your future. When it comes down to it, you’ve got to ask yourself how much you want to change your life, how much you really want to achieve your goals. If they are worth it, which I know they are, put an end to the excuses and follow Ray’s lead. Accept the facts of your situation and move ahead with an unwavering confidence. You may not end up selling billions of hamburgers to millions of people around the world, but you will do something much more important – you will live your best life. As we wrap up today’s issue I want to share an exciting breakthrough with you.

Motivation, one of the most important skills you can have in life, isn’t what you think. Most believe it’s a drive that comes and goes without notice. Nothing can be farther from the truth. Ray Kroc could have used his age as an excuse to pass by the opportunity that brought him unimaginable success. He could have shrugged his shoulders and lowered his head in defeat. Instead, he grabbed life by the horns and plowed full speed ahead toward the dream he was unwilling to pass by. What I’ll say is… Follow his lead.
